Hampden County Emergency Medical Services This page is dedicated to the men and women who make a difference everyday in Hampden County

Through our coordination with Western Massachusetts Emergency Medical Services Committee, Inc. and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, this organization has provided county wide coordination of communication centers, ambulance services, hospital emergency services, first responders, emergency medical service educational institutions and other organizations related to emergency medical services. Our agency has representation from municipal governments, hospitals, and ambulance services within Hampden County. As such, HCEMS is committed to filling the mandate and authority of the Department of Public Health Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 111C. Along with organizations such as yours we have seen many lives changed for the better.

Revised EMS regs passed by Public Health Council today. Effective in 90 days. FR/EMT staffing model in place for all BLS transports, not just hospital discharges. Removed requirement to submit PCR before leaving hospital but inserted a required 'verbal report'. More info to come when we get a look at the revisions.
