💚

Dear Mom, here are three truths we know you need to hear today:

1. My mental illness is not your fault, and you’re not the cause of it.
2. Even though I don’t always say it, I love and appreciate you. Thank you for all you do.
3. What you do is enough. You ARE a good mom.

Happy Mother’s Day! 💐
💚, NAMI

🌿 May is Mental Health Awareness Month 🌿

Mental health is part of all of us. It shows up in our quiet moments, in the way we carry stress, in how we connect with others, and in the courage it takes just to get through certain days.

This month is about more than awareness—it’s about understanding, compassion, and reminding one another that no one has to navigate life’s challenges alone.

It starts with a question: What’s your story?

Because behind every “I’m fine”…
every “I don’t want to be a burden”…
every moment of silence…
there’s something real waiting to be heard.

And when one person speaks up, something shifts.
Silence softens.
Connection takes its place.

That’s what Mental Health Awareness Month is all about.
Not just awareness—but understanding. Not just posts—but people.

This May, we’re inviting you to be part of something bigger:

💬 Share your story
💬 Listen without judgment
💬 Remind someone they’re not alone

If you feel comfortable, we would be honored to hear your story.
👉 Submit here: https://forms.gle/waydCfEQmYy63Usi7

Stories may be shared on our Facebook, website, or newsletter to help others feel seen and supported—but you can absolutely choose to remain anonymous. Your voice matters, and your comfort comes first.

Because your story? It might be the one that helps someone else finally exhale.

💚 We’re here for you. Always.

A simple envelope. A powerful layer of support. 💙

We’re proud to share that NAMI Southwest Missouri now has Blue Envelopes available for our community, thanks to our partnership with the Springfield Police Department.

This easy-to-use tool is designed to help individuals with disabilities or communication challenges have safer, more supportive interactions with law enforcement. Inside, you can include important information—like communication preferences, emergency contacts, or medical details—so officers can better understand and respond with care.

We’re grateful to be part of a growing effort across the Ozarks, alongside departments like Ozark Police Department, Nixa Police Department, Hollister Police Department, Kimberling City Police Department, and Indian Point Police Department—all working together to strengthen understanding and support in our communities.

💙 Need one?
Blue Envelopes are available in both of our lobbies or from any uniformed officer.

Because everyone deserves to feel safe, seen, and supported—especially in moments that matter most.
