💥🧡Public service announcement!💥🧡
If you are employed, do you know if your employer has an EAP, employee assistance program available??
And EAP can provide you a number of "free to you" counseling sessions with a variety of therapists to choose from, such as myself. Usually it's anywhere from 3 to 10 sessions per issue. Meaning if you first request issues due to stress, you can request again for more sessions to discuss your ADHD, for example. This has zero connection to your employer offered insurance!
It boggles my mind how many employees have no idea that this is something available to them. It often comes up when clients feel they have to start spacing their sessions apart to be able to continue to afford counseling copays/co-insurance through their insurance plan.
Do I get paid a little less through these programs, yes I do. But I'm telling you about them because I don't want to hear about any more suicides over work-related and/or political issues happening.
Find your EAP phone number from your HR or in your break room on a sign or from a co-worker or your supervisor. Call it and get an authorization code. Make sure you begin using those sessions before the ending date, or request for it to be extended if you haven't.
Even if you get laid off, fired, or quit, as long as you've been issued those sessions, you still have the right to use them.
Oftentimes another benefit of the EAP is that you get free consultation with legal services. It's very much worth checking into.
