For Ken Call, PT, DPT and clinic director, some of the most rewarding moments in his career come from seeing patients return to the activities and adventures they love — whether it’s hiking up Badger Mountain or celebrating life milestones with family.

At Therapeutic Associates, we’re proud to empower our patients to move freely and live actively every day. 💪

Behind every great patient outcome is a team that never stops learning. Our clinics regularly come together for in-services to collaborate, problem-solve, and exchange best practices. It’s one of the many ways we invest in our clinicians’ continued development and keep our care cutting-edge.

Are you engaging your core correctly?

If you’ve ever been told to “engage your core” but weren’t quite sure what that actually means, this video is for you!

We’re talking about the transverse abdominis—your deepest core muscles. Correct core engagement is key for all functional movement, from lifting groceries to hitting the gym. These stabilizing muscles are the foundation for safe, strong movement.

Learning to activate them properly can help with:
✅ Reducing back pain
✅ Improving posture
✅ Enhancing balance
✅ Boosting performance in everyday tasks

If you’re unsure if you’re activating your core the right way, talk to your physical therapist. We’re here to help you move better, feel stronger, and live pain-free!

Spotlight ⭐️

Team members from around our Portland Metro region spent this year’s PT Day of Service partnering with Go Baby Go, helping build modified ride-on toy cars to give young children with disabilities the gift of mobility and independence.

It was an inspiring day filled with teamwork, creativity, and smiles — all in the spirit of using our skills as physical therapists to make a difference in our community.

👏 Huge thanks to everyone who participated and to for the incredible work they do year-round!

🥳🩶 Welcome to our newest teammate Aubrey! 💐

Aubrey grew up in Prineville, OR before moving to La Grande, where she graduated from Eastern Oregon University. Then she attended graduate school to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Western University of Health Sciences in Lebanon, Oregon.

Her interest in physical therapy began after attending PT as a child and continued to grow after having knee surgery in college. These experiences led her to pursue a career in the field. Aubrey is particularly interested in treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions in pediatric patients. 🫶

🌲❄️ Outside of the office, Aubrey enjoys snowboarding, dancing, hiking, reading, seeing live music, and spending time with friends and family, including cuddling her cat Sokka. 🐱 Another fun fact is that she has fed a killer whale! 👋 Give her a wave if you see her in the office!

We are sure going to miss this girl when she heads off to PT school! ❤️

🩵 It’s all of our favorite Rhona’s last week with us here in the clinic! 🥲❤️

After almost four years working in the front office and as an aide with patients while completing her undergraduate degree, she will be heading back home to Washington to go to nursing school! 🎊

We are going to miss her so much but are so happy to have worked with her for this time! 🥰 We wish you all the best!!! 💕

👋 Happy Friday!! Please give a big welcome to Meghan, our new receptionist! 🎉

Meghan is currently studying at Lane Community College, working towards a career where she can help others. Physical therapy caught her interest because of its positive work culture and the joy her colleagues express in their roles. She loves helping people, especially those motivated to help themselves, which makes this field a perfect fit. 💪

🌲 At home, she enjoys hiking with her dog as well as spending time with her partner by the river during the warmer months. ☀️ This summer, she plans to explore new hiking spots, visit hot springs, and take her kayak out on the river. 🌊

Recently, she achieved a 4.0 GPA in her first term back to college after 12 years! Looking ahead to 2025, she aims to maintain a balanced life while learning more about Therapeutic Associates and contributing to the clinic.

🥳👋 Feel free to say hi when you see Meghan in the clinic! 🩷
