The Equine Discovery Center The Equine Discovery Center is an educational enrichment center for children with and without developmental delays.

The Equine Discovery Center™ is an educational enrichment center located right outside of Bolivar, Missouri. The services that we provide include developmental assessment, enrichment learning groups, social skills play groups, parent and child groups, parent support groups as well as early intervention services for children Birth- 3 years old. Pamela is certified as a Horse Boy™ Movement Method p

rovider. This method still integrates movement, but is done without horses. Pamela Witt is a dedicated Early Childhood, Elementary and Special Education Educator, an honored “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” award winner and recipient of two Champions for Children Awards in the Jefferson County Public School System. She is skilled in providing enthusiastic and meaningful instruction that has proven results, especially with at risk students. Pamela graduated from Southwest Baptist University with her Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. While looking for the best approach to teach children in urban magnet schools, she was then selected to attend the Rudolf Steiner Waldorf Education in the Public Schools Institute in Fair Oaks California. This approach was one in which she saw great results when teaching children of different abilities within the classroom, helping them reach their full potential and develop accountability for their own learning. After teaching in the Jefferson County Public Schools, she continued her education by attending University of Missouri-Columbia and earning her Masters in Special Education with an Emphasis in Autism. Pamela is certified as an equine specialist through EAGALA (Equine Assisted Growth and Learning), as a Horse Boy™ 1 practitioner and recently received certification as a Horse Boy™ Movement Method provider. To fully implement the Horse Boy™ learning program, we have been adding features to our facilities with the program in mind. Our facilities include an outdoor sensory area, a large outdoor riding arena, and a fenced Paddock Play area. We are currently not providing equine-related services as the insurance that we have found would make the program cost prohibitive for families. We are working on ways to make sure that we can provide this service in the near future!
