Most people think of rosacea as a skin condition that causes redness on the face, but it can also affect the eyes. This form is called ocular rosacea, and it can lead to symptoms like burning, stinging, redness, watery eyes, light sensitivity, and a gritty or dry feeling.

Ocular rosacea is often connected to meibomian gland dysfunction, a common cause of dry eye disease. When the oil glands in the eyelids are not working properly, tears evaporate too quickly, and the eyes become irritated and uncomfortable.
