Are you looking for ways to help your community but don't know where to start? The Springfield Area Food Shelf is looking for volunteers! Here's how you can help out!

*We are looking for individuals to help out with our food truck deliveries. Our deliveries are in the morning, typically ariving around 9:30 on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Please set aside about an hour. There are so many things to do on delivery days, not just the heavy lifting!

*Individuals to help on our client service days. Whether your more on the shy side or outgoing, we may have a service day that will appeal to you! We have independent shopping days, where the client shops alone, with little to no help from the volunteers. We also have volunteer led service days, where a volunteer will go around with the client to aid in shopping.

*Other ways to help out the food shelf is through a variety of donations. We ask, if donating any food items, these items are within the use by dates and in good condition.

This past winter, St. Paul's catholic church youth members in Comfery held a few nights of bingo. The admission to play was an item to be donated to the Springfield Area Food Shelf. This past week Zakary and Makenze Fischer (in the photo) brought in the donated items. They plan to have more games in the future, so watch for those flyers.

Thank you from all of us at the Food Shelf for the donations!
