Between March and June of this year, we added more than 100 new volunteers to our team! A huge part of that increase is thanks to all the high school and college students who volunteer their time and get an inside look at health care during the summer months.

We just trained 10 new volunteers today and are so thankful for all the support we get from our entire team of volunteers. They help with so much around our hospital and clinics, and we truly could not provide the same level of award-winning care without them.

Welcome to the team!

A big "thank you" to the Cedar Hills Elks Lodge #2678 from the team!

The Elks generously presented Mercy Health Foundation Jefferson with a $2,000 donation which will directly support Mercy Birthplace - Jefferson by providing essential equipment, materials and supplies needed to care for infants born with drug dependencies — both during their hospital stay and as they transition home with their families.

Great work by the Elks and everyone who supported their series of community-driven events, including their annual Battle of the Bands, two bike rides, local sponsorships, T-shirt sales and other fundraising activities.

More time with patients, less time buried in paperwork. Thanks to AI, Mercy is changing the way doctors work. This shift caught the attention of KLAS Research, earning Mercy a spot among just four U.S. health systems to win the 2025 KLAS Arch Collaborative EHR Breakthrough Recognition. It’s proof that when doctors are happier, patients are, too!

AI technology boosts face-to-face time with patients, earns Mercy national recognition for physician satisfaction

Next time you see our Mercy Sports Medicine team at a local game or practice, they'll be riding in style!

We just got 12 new all-electric golf carts thanks to the Mercy Health Foundation, and they showed up just in time.

Our old golf carts were pushing 12 years, and their complicated battery system was not exactly easy to maintain. Now, our new carts make it easier for our team to get to players quickly and triage any injuries they might have.

Thank you to our Mercy Health Foundation for funding these crucial new carts, and stay tuned. We'll be sharing some of the new features on these little medical buggies soon.

White coats, big dreams and a bold new beginning for the very first class at the Alice L. Walton School of Medicine. We are grateful to be part of their journey as an educational partner and excited to see how these future doctors will shape tomorrow’s care!

We are growing the team at 65 Prime+ by Mercy Primary Care – South City with the addition of nurse practitioner Julie Rubin. Julie joins Drs. Molly Ehlman, Carolyn Koenig and Marina Russell at this primary care clinic specially designed for Medicare beneficiaries. 65 Prime+ care includes extended visit times, more frequent visits to better address chronic conditions and doctors and advanced practice providers focused on senior care.

“I love being a primary care provider, being able to establish long-standing relationships with patients, becoming part of their team and helping them manage their health on the continuum,” Rubin said.

Rubin was born and raised in St. Louis, and she is now married and raising her two school-aged children here. She enjoys being actively involved in her kids’ school and extracurricular activities.

It's pretty hard to beat the excitement that comes from getting a new generation of students interested in health care.

We have more than 75 students (freshman-seniors) in our health care scholars program, and these aspiring pros participate in volunteering, shadowing, future career advising, projects, mentorship... you name it!

Before she worked in Mercy Pediatrics, Pat Ameis was known for something special — delivering more than just meals.

She brought patients handmade signs with uplifting messages, always paired with a kind word and a smile. Those small moments left a big mark. People still remember the signs they got from Pat during their hardest days.

Now, she brings that same comfort to kids and families in our pediatric unit.

When you support the Mercy Health Foundation, you're helping caregivers like Pat bring hope in ways that go far beyond medicine.

Our Child Life team is making this month a Very Merry Christmas in July 💙

They're restocking the supplies they hand out to kids who have to come see us at the hospital, at one of our clinics, at our St. Jude clinic or at our orthopedic hospital. They've put together an Amazon wish list, so donating couldn't be easier.

Because they help kids of all ages, they need items like Play-Doh, coloring books, puzzles, stress balls, charging cords, kids books and more.

Numbers from United Way Ozarks Region Day of Caring are in!

Our team took the lead with the most volunteers for the day, but we were neck-in-neck with John Deere. We had 70 folks volunteer their time, and John Deere had 63.

In total, our team volunteered 294.5 hours of service and helped out at...
o 35 hours at Convoy of Hope
o 60 hours at Habitat ReStore
o 17.5 hours at The Tooth Truck
o 49 hours at The Victim Center
o 14 hours at Big Brothers Big Sisters
o 84 hours at Greene County Master Gardeners
o 35 hours at Boys and Girls Club

There are so many ways to get involved in the community and make an impact! If you're curious about how you can help out, get in touch with the team at United Way or call any of the non-profits we volunteered at. Even two hours of time can make a big difference.

These cuties don't know it yet, but they're the latest Bear fans, which is especially exciting now that MSU football is part of Conference USA — the highest tier within Division I college football.

And while our labor and delivery team is busy welcoming the latest generation of Bear fans, our Mercy Sports Medicine Physicians will be busy caring for MSU football and basketball players.

Each month, we honor one of our caregivers with a Tulip Award, which celebrates caregivers whose actions and behaviors bring our Mercy Values to life both on and off the job.

Sometimes, it's the smallest actions that can make a big impact on a patient's day, and that's exactly what happened with Rae'vyn who is one of our radiologic techs.

Recently, an ortho trauma patient was visibly upset because she had spent the last of her money on transportation to get to her appointment. Now, she didn't know how she could afford to get home. When Rae'vyn heard this, she quietly slipped cab fare into the patient's purse.

She didn't want praise or recognition, and this is the kind of gesture Rae'vyn is know for. So thank you Rae'vyn for being such a kind and empathetic caregiver.

Rain or shine, we were ready to celebrate earning our 5th A grade in patient safety from the Leapfrog Group. We kicked things off at midnight and kept the festivities going through this evening. We had a dunk tank, selfie stations, fajita bar and tons of snacks.

We’re the only hospital in town to earn an A grade, and one of only two hospitals in all of Missouri to earn 5 A's in a row since spring 2023!

It takes every single one of our caregivers from EMS, food prep and EVS, to our doctors, technicians and public safety officers to earn this designation.

Amazing job to our whole team.

We absolutely love seeing our local chapter of Women with a Mission grow, and at our last gathering, we had the pleasure of having one of our founding members in the room at the same time as two new members.

This group of women represents an impressive range of industries, ages, life experiences and professions, and they've made a lasting impact on the health of this community. They've helped fund the purchase of new medical equipment, covered prescription drug costs, lined up transportation for patients, purchased wigs for those fighting cancer, secured food and fresh produce for those in need.... the list goes on.

We're feeling very proud and very grateful to be surrounded by such amazing and caring women that are truly carrying on the mission of the Sisters of Mercy.

In a field that has high burnout, he found that volunteering was a way to recharge and rediscover the joy that comes from caring for those around you. 💙
