Dr. Ruth Ann had the honor of attending a memorial service and at The Eden Village Memorial Garden yesterday, respectfully and honorably laying to rest a former person who was homeless with no family, who passed away in Springfield.

Eden Village is an amazing community to help those who have been homeless. It is a supportive community with very nice residents who support one another, reside in beautiful homes in this village, have a community garden, and community gathering area. They are considered family. They do pay a small amount of rent and help maintain the grounds, etc. It is truly God's work.

Eden Village continues to reach out in the community especially working with Drury University students, so that the vision and their purpose continue to grow to serve more people.

Eden Village is expanding. The director shared that they are currently developing another Eden Village where the homes will be built using a 3D printer. The homes will be rated for a F4 tornado. They have two of these printers, purchased by a gracious gift of a donor. Yes - a 3D printer!!! They currently have a community store at Eden Village 1 made using this 3D printer. They are forward thinking and on the cutting edge of technology.

Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. was founded in 1989 in Springfield, Missouri, by the DeGraffenreid and Wood families. DeGraffenreid-Wood-Crematory was added in 2013. We are NOT a corporately-owned funeral home, that has simply bought a family-name funeral home and advertise as such, as is common in the Springfield area. Prior to 1989, the Wood family owned and operated Wood Funeral Home in Hartville, MO, for many years. We are small enough to give personal attention, but large enough and experienced to accommodate even the largest of funerals. The Walnut Lawn Funeral Home, Ltd. - DeGraffenreid-Wood-Crematory professional team of licensed funeral directors, preneed counselors, and funeral assistants/hosts are committed to providing friendly, personal attention and care for your loved ones and funeral arrangements to exceed your expectations, with over 150 years of combined experience. It is a goal for us to form a special relationship with your family -taking care of the specific details for the funeral service for your loved, making it unique and special, so you may spend time with your family and friends to celebrate your loved one's life and special memories.
