The Illinois Association of Bariatric Surgeons (IABS) recently held the 11th annual Fall Educational Summit. Dr. Adam Reid serves on the board for IABS. The purpose of IABS summit is to elevate educational excellence. Dr. Reid was accompanied by Dr. Florence, Pam, and Tiffany.

Meet Theresa! She has shared her journey with us and we are so excited for her! Her own words capture her story best...."2019 had a lot of ups and downs for me; knee surgery, not breathing well and having sleep apnea ( I actually stopped breathing 36 times an hour!) and the inability to keep up with my grandson to name a few. This was all due to my weight. I knew it was time to change my life and health for the better. I had Roux-en-y gastric bypass in August 2019 and have never looked back. This was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. I had to re-teach my brain how to eat and drink which at times was a challenge but I have never regretted my decision. All of the team members at Memorial Wellness Center have always been there for me. My highest weight was 225 pounds and I am currently 144. I no longer have to wear a Cpap machine at night and no longer have knee pain. While life was good before, now hopefully I will be around longer to enjoy it with my grandson , grand daughter and my whole family." Congratulations Theresa - we are so happy for you and wish you all of the best as you continue to enjoy you health and wellness ❤️
