Progesterone is a natural hormone that women's bodies make. The first pill of the abortion pill regimen
cuts off progesterone, and adding it back can help women continue their pregnancy. It is also given to women who have low levels of progesterone and need to take extra to prevent a miscarriage and continue a healthy pregnancy.
