This month's special Employee Spotlight highlights Dr. Robert Moss, founder of MOSS Rehabilitation Center, which he opened in 2006. Dr. Moss has dedicated 27 years to physical therapy, blending his love for athletics with a desire to help others. 👏

Why PT:
"In high school, I loved working out and wanted to help others through athletics. I thought PT would be a shorter route than med school… but years later I went back to complete my doctorate anyway!"

Dr. Moss learned that effective patient care involves "understanding individual journeys and going above and beyond for their recovery."

His advice for future PTs: "You need a servant's heart and a genuine desire to help."

Fun facts about Dr. Moss:
👉 He'd show up to the Halloween party as a pirate. (We are now greeting him by "Arrgh, Gar, and Ahoy!")
👉 His childhood dream was to be a professional skateboarder. (Tony Hawk? Nah, Dr. Moss!)
👉 He loves puffy tacos and enjoys sugar-free Red Bull, fruit, and trail mix during the day.
👉 His best dad joke? "What do you call a cow that has been knighted? Sir Loin." 🐄⚔️

Dr. Moss believes MOSS stands out because: "We prioritize making rehab enjoyable and constantly seek to improve patient experiences. We want people to succeed, and we do everything we can to make that happen." The most rewarding aspect of his career has been mentoring his team and watching them grow.

Dr. Moss, thank you for your servant's heart, your humor, and the vision you had to open MOSS back in 2006. Because of you, thousands of patients have had a place to heal, recover, and thrive. We are so grateful for your leadership and dedication! 💙

Running Down A Dream! 💭

Kathy has spent years running—but the wear and tear finally caught up to her knee. As a personal trainer, not being able to move freely was frustrating, and even after trying everything she could think of, the pain just wouldn’t go away.

After deciding on a knee replacement, Kathy shared that she felt “depressed that I couldn’t do my normal daily activities and felt that physical therapy was the best option to help me get back to normal.”
With dedication and hard work in PT, Kathy regained her mobility and strength—enough to get back to training clients and living her daily life pain-free. 💪

We’re proud to celebrate her journey and cheer her on as she keeps chasing her dreams!

You’ve got a new knee—now what?

Most patients begin gentle physical therapy within a day or two of surgery—sometimes even before leaving the hospital. The first focus is reducing swelling, restoring motion, and getting you comfortable walking with support.

Once you’re here at MOSS, we’ll guide you through each stage of recovery. That might start with hands-on techniques to ease stiffness, then progress to targeted exercises that build strength, improve flexibility, and restore balance. Every session is tailored to your body and your goals—so each week you’re moving with more confidence and less pain. 🤝

💡 Tip: Prepare your home before surgery so you can focus on healing—clear all walkways, set up a comfortable rest area, and keep essentials within reach.

Every step you take is one step closer to getting back to the life you love, and we're here to guide you.

“No pain, no gain” might sound motivating, but when it comes to recovery after a knee replacement, it can actually hold you back.

Pushing too hard, too soon, can lead to setbacks. The key is smart movements: exercises tailored to your healing stage that challenge you without causing damage.

In physical therapy, progress is about consistent steps forward, not pushing through pain.

Let us help you get back on your feet, without the pain. 💪

Just had a knee replacement? You might be wondering what recovery will look like. Physical therapy is about more than exercise—it’s about preparing your knee to move well.

In the early stages, through gentle hands-on techniques and progressive movement, we focus on:
-Reducing swelling
-Easing stiffness
-Restoring mobility

From there, we build strength and confidence so you can return to walking, climbing stairs, kneeling, and more—on your terms.

Every journey is different, but one thing’s certain: the effort you put in now lays the foundation for a stronger, more active future.
