I created a timelapse of my drawing process for one of my course assignments. In this assignment we used several different measuring methods to lay out a portrait. Then continued to adding value, in order to develop the form and likeness of the face. I'm drawing with a woodless graphite pencil, along with many blending tools and erasers. In the end of the video the drawing remains unfinished, the point of this video is to show my drawing students how I approach a realistic portrait with the grid method...using it as a tool for capturing proportional accuracy, loosely, then moving past it and exercising your natural powers of observation.

Watch this grid drawing portrait come to life in a timelapse that captures every careful line and quiet moment of creation.
