Having a good time at MOBOT’s Kwanzaa celebration and stumbled upon Ann’s Roots, featuring micro greens, which is a must have!

They did a cooking demonstration featuring their micro greens and vegan rice with pigeon peas, turmeric, and micro greens.

They also make an amazing drink made from micro greens called Golden Glow and Island Bliss.

Stay mindful of what you are putting in your body. Consumer Reports recently tested 23 different protein powders and shakes and found that many had one troubling thing in common: heavy metals.

Plant-based protein powders were particularly concerning. On average, these products contained nine times more lead than other powders on the market.

Small amounts of lead can accumulate in the body over time. Consumer Reports experts say protein supplementation isn’t necessary, and daily use of protein powders isn’t recommended.

Ryan Erbe (Erbe Farms) makes vegan pizzas featuring his signature lion’s mane mushrooms. And he makes mushroom cookies.

I can’t vouch for the cookies, because he was sold out of them when I went to his place in St. Charles last night. But I can vouch for the dirty martini pizza I brought home. Yum!

It’s unlike any pizza I’ve had. No red sauce. Super thin crust (perfection), olive oil, lion’s mane, green olives, garlic, vegan blue cheese, and pine nuts.

It’s more like a flatbread, which I prefer over traditional pizza. Excellent with a leafy green salad.

Erbe Farms is in his food truck at the Saturday Farmers Market in St. Charles on Saturday mornings. He’s going to get a vending license for St. Louis soon so he can set up at the Tower Grove Farmers Market. Great!

This is awesome news coming out of Toronto! Wishbone Animal Rights Lab intends to do for animal rights what incubators do for tech start-ups. It's a creativity incubator designed to spark, generate, facilitate, and disseminate innovative animal rights activism.

Toronto has a new animal rights lab, studio, incubator, and training centre. It is a dedicated bricks-and-mortar location.
