Dr. Lemos is Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at Wayne State University School of Medicine. He serves as President and Chair of the Detroit Sports Medicine Foundation and Director of the Benjamin Paolucci Center for Education and Research.

At the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Lemos matriculated into the MD PhD program where he received his Masters and PhD from the Department of Veterinary Science and his MD from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine. Dr. Lemos then completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Vermont and a sports medicine fellowship at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic. During Dr. Lemos' fellowship he performed surgery with Dr. Frank Jobe the inventor of the Ulnar Collateral Reconstruction Surgery for Pitchers (Tommy John Surgery).
