It has truly been “the twelve days of Christmas” at Beechwood this year, with one festive event after another. On Thursday, we held our monthly Resident Birthday Party 🥳🎂, with musical entertainment and not one, not two, but three special guest appearances. One of our residents (who we won’t name or show without express permission) joined our lovely entertainer on microphone for energized performances of the happy birthday song and Bob Seger’s Old Time Rock & Roll, while the other special guest — back with his full white beard and his iconic, jolly red suit — went room-to-room visiting residents who opted not to atted the party. Dear Santa also made an extended stop at the birthday party, receiving each resident individually for a photo and a wish, and then recited his favorite Christmas poem, “Twas the Night Before Christmas” (officially An Account of a Visit From St. Nicholas), by Clement Clarke Moore. Thank you to Nina and Angela of Hospice of Michigan for giving everyone’s favorite guest a ride to Beechwood while his sleigh is getting its annual tune up and shine before its world tour in just a couple of days! Here’s just a tiny sample of the photos taken with Santa. The Christmas poem recitation will be shared in a separate Reel.🎅🎄🛷

🎄Merry Christmas to South Lake Schools, South Lake Schools Band Boosters, and especially to the young band students🎺 and band director Mr. Cook who brought their budding talent to Beechwood Manor for a sweet holiday performance! 🎼🔔🌟

Great thanks to the kind carolers from Bethel Baptist Church in St. Clair Shores for filling our Beechwood Manor halls with beautiful song and spirit! Your good will was both needed and appreciated! May you all have a beautiful Christmas & and very happy and healthy New Year!

Miss Sarah and her Piano Vine Studio students put on a lovely recital at Beechwood yesterday. The first piano recital in our dining room was in the winter of 1986! Thank you, Piano Vine Studio, for being a part of the tradition and for putting smiles on our Beechwood family faces! One of many beautiful performances will be shared in the comments. ❤️🎼🎹

Santa’s elves made an early stop delivering gifts for residents at Beechwood today! Karl Paulson, Alyssa Calderon and Audrey Herden were the elves (pictured to the right of Life Enrichment Director, Michele Z) representing SCS Lakeview Public Schools. Our sincere gratitude goes out to the elves and their generous school community, and to Michele for her tireless outreach. Acts of kindness like these remind our residents they are remembered and appreciated.
