Organize frequent interactions throughout the day to keep your child talking. Facilitate them to verbalize needs, emotions, and observations in specific contexts like during mealtime talk, playtime conversation, or the completion of tasks. Encourage your child to employ the words or signs that he/she has been practicing during therapy sessions and praise him/her for it. It not only prompts them for better communication but also improves their participation in routine functions. The beauty of incorporating speech practice in these natural interactional occurrences is that you assist your child to use these acquired skills in practice scenarios that are as close to natural as they can get, thereby enhancing their abilities in this area and their confidence in speaking. Increased practice in various settings sharpens their interpersonal communication skills and fosters a conducive atmosphere for speech growth.
