Here are the findings of another study of interoceptive awareness in youth receiving psychotherapy for early complex trauma. This time I focused on the relationship between a felt sense of body trust and self-regulatory abilities. The results are what you'd expect: body trust predicts the skills we so often target in therapy. Upshot: building an internal sense of safety is more than psychological AND without an internalized sense of "body as trusted ally" skill building won't stick. Study link: https://lnkd.in/gSm8gTt9
