Our March Employee Spotlight is Marquita! Marquita has worked for UCP Heartland for 3 ½ years, starting as a Direct Support Professional and being promoted to Supervisor of Community Services. In this role, she assists clients, plans special activities, and provides opportunities for clients to try new things while maintaining normalcy. She enjoys seeing clients happy or putting a smile on their faces.

Marquita is proud of her commitment to personal growth while actively working to improve her skills within her role. She is dedicated to bringing ideas to the table to support her clients.

An experience that had a lasting impact on her was developing the Monthly Birthday Celebrations. She aims to ensure that everyone feels recognized and appreciated. Marquita shared, “Some clients are unaware of their birthdays or may not have the opportunity to celebrate them. I found it rewarding to bring joy and positivity to them during their birthday month.”

Marquita feels others should work for UCP Heartland because of the close-knit team and the collaboration aimed at supporting our clients. She said, “We treat our clients with the same care and respect as family members, and they look forward to attending our programs to connect with familiar, supportive faces.”
