Louis Foot and Ankle Institute specializes in surgical and nonsurgical treatment of all foot and ankle conditions, traumatic injuries, overuse syndromes, genetic anomalies, deformities, and arthritis. We treat complex problems related to nerves, muscles and bio-mechanics, as well as common ailments such as flat foot and fractures. Most people have foot or ankle problems during their lives. We often see patients who have not found relief with previous treatments. Some people have tolerated problems, thinking that discomfort is a natural part of aging. In many circumstances, however, we can offer treatment options that alleviate foot and ankle pain.

👣Foot Fact Friday🌟

🚶🏽‍♂️‍➡️The average adult takes thousands of steps each day, adding up to nearly 100,000 miles over a lifetime. Your feet quite literally carry you through every phase of life, yet they are often the most overlooked part of overall health.🚶🏼‍♀️

🦶🏼When foot or ankle pain begins, it does not just affect your feet—it impacts how you move, how active you remain, and how fully you can participate in the life you want to live. Addressing discomfort early can help preserve mobility, prevent long-term complications, and keep you moving with confidence.👟

If pain, stiffness, or recurring injuries are limiting you, now is the time to have them evaluated. Your future mobility depends on the care you give your feet today.

👣 If foot or ankle pain, recurring injuries, or mobility limitations slowed you down last year, now is the time to address them—not ignore them. As you set your goals for the year ahead, consider how pain-free movement fits into the life you want to live. Whether your goal is staying active, returning to exercise, or simply getting through the day without discomfort, we are here to help.

Start the New Year Pain-Free: Why January Is the Right Time to Address Foot Pain in St. Louis
👣
The start of a new year brings renewed motivation to focus on health, movement, and overall quality of life. For many people in the St. Louis area, however, lingering foot or ankle pain becomes a barrier to those goals long before spring arrives.
🦶🏻
If foot pain has been affecting your daily activities, exercise routine, or ability to stay active, January is one of the best times to seek evaluation and treatment. Early care allows for more effective, conservative options and helps prevent long-term complications that can impact your entire year.

Medicine often asks us to give more of ourselves than the day seems to allow. Tonight, after an add-on case, I looked up to this view and was reminded that balance comes in the pauses. Grateful for the privilege of this work, the patients who trust me, and for the quiet beauty that waits outside the OR. It’s easy to rush past the ordinary, but moments like these remind me why I love what I do.
