Hey everyone! I’m thrilled to share some awesome improvements I’ve made in my massage therapy office to enhance your experience! 🙌💆‍♂️

Check out my new massage table—it’s 2 inches wider than standard tables and can support up to 800 lbs! That means more comfort and stability for everyone. Plus, I’ve added two HEPA 13 air purifiers that filter the room completely about 5 times an hour! Fresh air and cleanliness are key, right? 🌬️✨

To keep things safe and relaxing, I’ll be wearing my KN95 mask during our sessions while clients are welcome to choose whether they want to mask up or not, thanks to the robust air filtration.

I can’t wait for you to enjoy these new upgrades that make your comfort and health my top priority! 💙

🌟 Why You Should Consider a Self-Employed Massage Therapist! 🌟

Hey, friends! When it comes to your well-being, choosing a self-employed massage therapist has some pretty sweet perks. 🙌✨ Check out my latest carousel to see why going this route means better value, more personal care, and some real quality time just for you!

For starters, you’ll often get more affordable prices, and trust me, you won’t be shortchanged on your massage time. While big national chains might advertise a "60-minute" massage, you often end up with way less hands-on time. With me, you get the full hour plus some dedicated time to chat about what you really need!

Plus, as a self-employed therapist, I can invest in my own self-care. That way, I show up ready to give you the best experience possible at every session.

If you’ve had a massage from me before—thank you! 💙 And if it’s been a bit, I’d love to see you back soon. Let’s prioritize some self-care together in these busy times!

Ready to book? Hit the link in my bio! 📅✨

Some days we don’t have a whole 100% to give. With so much uncertainty in the air, it would be surprising if you WERE able to give A+ performance, 100% of the time.

If we can remember that it is inevitable that we will have days when we’re not at our best, and give ourselves compassion for our humanity, maybe we can give compassion to others too for their humanity.

I hope you have the opportunity to be a compassionate neighbor today.

Hey folks. How have you been doing?

I took Wednesday last week off. I figured regardless of what happened, I would appreciate having time for myself to feel. Now, I’m especially glad I had the time to feel, and reach out to friends, help chosen family clean their apartment to make their week a little easier, and think about how I want to respond going forward.

Fred Rogers is often quoted saying “look for the helpers” in scary and troubling times, and that, on its own, is a comfort to children who may not yet have agency to act towards a better future. But we’re not children anymore, are we? We have the power to respond now.

One of the many things I am implementing to lend my power toward a better future is “looking for the helpers”, the people that have BEEN doing the work of caring for our neighbors, that have the existing relationships and strategies, and support them. I don’t need to be a leader, I don’t need to have all the answers, but I do need to do something.

So, I’m collecting goods for and through December 4th in my office at .bodyworkstl. If you want to bring something along with your appointment, that’s great. If you want to swing by and drop something off, that’s cool too.

Much love to you all, we’re in this together.

Metaphysically, borage symbolizes courage and resilience, enhancing self-confidence and optimism. Its mild cucumber-like flavor works well in salads and beverages.

Rose (Rosa Damascena) is known for its anti-inflammatory and digestive benefits, as well as its ability to reduce stress, anxiety, and grief. It’s a symbol of love, compassion, and emotional healing. Rose is often used in rituals for self-love and attraction. The flavor is subtly sweet and floral, with a tangy undertone, perfect for teas and desserts.

Oat straw (Avena sativa) supports the nervous system, reducing stress and fatigue, and promotes bone health and hormonal balance. It is associated with grounding and nourishment, bringing calm and balance. The flavor is mild, grassy, and slightly sweet, ideal for relaxing teas and infusions.

Candy Cap Mushroom (Lactarius rubidus) are known for its immune-boosting and antioxidant properties, and also have anti-inflammatory benefits. Metaphysically, they symbolize sweetness and abundance. Their distinct maple syrup-like flavor makes them a favorite in desserts and syrups.

I recently did a sound bath for a private group in the group space at Connected Bodywork, and let me tell you, the acoustics are delightful, the lighting is soft and relaxing, and we now have enough yoga mats for a full class!

I am always so appreciative of client testimonials! This one reads:

Andy was excellent; very attentive and skilled. The office is bright and homey, the bed sheets were cute, and it smelled nice. Andy listened to my needs and especially noted and cared for some specific histories I've had with massage... I think this practice is really special if you are a person who is curious about massage but are worried about your specific sensory or trauma needs.

The creative process of CONNECT has been multifaceted and a full arc of feelings. The way the center looks right now reminds us when we first started out, full of hope, vision and possibility. We still feel these things, but now with a tinge of sadness and loss, among other things.

We are in the finals days before we turn over the keys, and could use some support as we paint over the custom murals, imagined by .

06/03/2024

Join the Core Connect Crew for our FINAL CONNECTed Ecstatic Dance session and one of the last opportunities for us to be together in the CONNECT Center on Wyoming St. Let's go out with some dancing, shaking, liberatory joy!

In this session, you will be guided to connect to yourself through movement and rhythm. Weaving our favorite music from around the world, together we explore our expressive and creative sides in an intimate group setting.

Over the course of two hours, you will be encouraged to move in whichever way feels most natural to you within our co-created container of consent, safety, and non-judgment. Together, we will explore the power of flow and surrender as our dancing unites us into one community.

This month's theme for the music is "Be Free," a timely theme for the season, as well as the poignancy of life that persists and grows around and within us. Dakota Gonzalez of Centered Flow Therapeutics and Liberty of Awakening Creatives will weave the beats and guide our opening and closing circles to help us let go of pre-conceived notions about group dance for a truly liberating experience.

Opening circle starts at 10am. We encourage you to arrive 10-15 minutes early to get comfortable and to be present for the opening circle. The circle will close by 12pm.

This dance is free of charge, but please register in advance. You may also "share some love" if you want to cpntribute to our closing costs.

If you're dance shy, know that the role of witness is important and needed in this practice. You can just come to BE and enjoy. Also, there is a room for stretching and lounging, should that be your vibe.

Stay after the dance for a FREE POTLUCK followed by a mural party, with a raffle for care baskets and some other fun surprises for anyone who attends.

THIS IS A HYBRID EVENT... so you can join via Zoom with a virtual ticket for the dance portion! Wahoo!

05/29/2024

Whether you are in a romantic, familial, creative, or business partnership, having empathy for the people you care about is paramount to your relational wellbeing. When we know what is going on for us and for the other person, we can connect in honest ways that honor the needs of all parties and allow us to get creative about the strategies to meet those needs.

In this session, we will get a basic overview of the skill and faculty of empathy, what it is and what it is not, how and when to engage it in our relationships. We will work with the wonderful world of feelings and needs, understanding what they are and what they tell us about the life energy moving within and between us.

We will practice giving and receiving empathy as well as explore the possibility of establishing rituals for exchanging empathy in your relationships as a strategy for relational wellbeing.

Come alone or with a partner.

Come hang out with Prescott of Wellness Bodywork this weekend!

On Friday he'll be back at the center with Total Reset, a foam rolling workshop followed by a sound bath. Not only will you gain confidence in how to use a foam roller to care for your soft tissues, but after an hour of guided self massage, Andy will guide the group into even deeper relaxation with the use of metal singing bowls and various chimes. This class sold out last month so be sure to reserve your spot in advance!

Saturday, Andy will be speaking on the basics of non-monogamy as a part of our relational wellbeing series. Are you partnered and curious about "opening up" your relationship? Are you currrently single, and have a history of monogamy not feeling quite right for you? Do you have a friend that is non-monogamous and want to better understand their perspective? Whatever your reasoning may be, you are welcome to come join us.

Later on on Saturday, Andy will be leading our monthly Poetry Share Circle. In groups of up to 5 people, each person gets around 20 minutes to share their work, receive feedback (if they wish), and share about the inspiration for their work. Come meet other poets and delight in the magic of creative expression through words!

The Full Bloom energy this morning was so delightful this morning that flowers were exploding like fireworks at the afternoon session of the Relational Wellbeing Series.

Our session on Deep Listening, Reflection & Staying Curious was fruitful and connective, and opened up a wonderful conversation about communication skills that we will deepen on June 1st in "Rituals of Connection: Expressing Feeling & Needs."

But the NEXT session of the series will actually take place May 25th, exploring "Non-Monogamy 101," facilitated by Andy of .

We are honored to hold the space for folks to have these inprotant conversations and expand their relational horizons.

05/07/2024

All relationships are invitations to show up and connect with another person, but if we are not able to be present with another's feelings and experiences, we are likely to miss many opportunities to deepen the connection, or worse, escalate conflict.

Join us in person at this Saturday, when we will dive into the realm of relational skills that allow us to show up for others. We will practice the skills of deep listening, or active listening that goes beyond showing that you're listening to words, but notices the fuller picture of what matters to the person.

Then, we will practice "reflecting" back what the person has said. While this might seem simple, many people struggle to remember the key words and phrases that mattered the most to the person speaking. We will explore why reflecting matters and how it can be used to help others feel seen and heard.

Finally, we will discuss the vital importance of staying curious, and why it is so challenging to stay present in listening to others when you, too, are feeling things.

These are skills that you can practice to enhance your connection in any relationship in your life, be it personal, professional, familial... you can even apply these skills to enhance your relationship with yourself!

Join us from 1-3pm after the optional community potluck at 12pm and the morning C0NNECTed Ecstatic Dance (register separately).

Ahhhh yes, the flowers of spring are opening, reaching their petals, bending their stems and dancing in the wind. Just as the flowers ecstatically emerge into this season, we, too, will have our time on May 11th to bloom fully in our CONNECTed Ecstatic Dance!

This is a dance session is for people who "don't know how to dance" as well as those who want to stretch their experienced wings in an intimate, expressive and non-judgemental space. This is not a dance "class," but rather an intentional space for us to come together and move to music in whatever ways our bodies are calling for.

Wiggle, recline, flail, writhe, shimmy, twerk, sit, journal, feel, observe... it's all welcome at Ecstatic Dance! The one intention that we hold for the space is that you leave feeling more connected to yourself, others or life.

Join us for an opening circle where we'll check in and warm up before the beats begin and we let it all loose in a truly liberating experience.

Stay afterwards for an optional potluck which will lead into our next "Relational Wellbeing Series Skills Session: Listening, Reflecting and Staying Curious."

It's bound to be a meaningful and connective day for all.
