Reward in behavior science is an experience directly tied to a behavior that makes that behavior more likely to happen again.

When working with clients to create new habits, we want to understand what is making a particular behavior hard to do, by questioning their present state of ability and work with them to determine how they can make that behavior easier to do frequently and well.
▪️
Scientists learned decades ago that rewards need to happen either during the behavior or milliseconds afterward for the behaviors to be reinforced. That said, we need to monitor how we reward ourselves and how we time the rewards we reap.
▪️
When we celebrate effectively after accomplishing or achieving something, we tap into reward circuitry in the brain...encoding sequences of behavior we’ve performed. Celebrating is self-enforcing. It can also be utilized as a specific technique for behavior change and a psychological frame shift.
▪️
For example, walking is a behavior that is repeated until it’s second nature through reward. The same system can also be applied to weight training and meal prepping. So as long as we are in a position to change and be receptive to learning.

Feel good paths of relief and reward lead us to the land of habit by creating expectations for the future.

Our perception of our ability to perform becomes THE reality that our neural pathway ingrains in our brain as OUR reality. So If we want to perform really well then we better start believing, behaving and fueling ourselves like we can.

The combined power of the brain and body is miraculous. The more often we have a thought or perform an action in a repeated manner, the more powerful those thoughts and actions become. The more powerful they are, the better we become at thinking and doing those things.
▪️
Change is a requirement for getting better in the same way change is a requirement for pattern breakage and formation. By choosing to show up and execute a particular thought or action you make a conscious decision to change the shape of old patterns and create reception for new patterns to form. You are deciding to actively and quite literally breaking down what you no longer are, to step into who you want to be.
▪️
And we want to empower you to claim that change for yourself and your health. Personalized health management is about standing up to claim the opportunity and power you have to shape your own pattern of health and longevity.

• Do you know why change is truly meaningful for you?
• Is this change truly a priority?

Next time you’re in the process of trying to conquer something. Approach it from the perspective of someone who already has. Rather than saying: “I want to exercise.”- say, “I am someone who exercises.” Seriously, identify as a person who already does and then watch how it becomes true.

1 in 4 Americans spend more than 8 hours a day sitting. You might even find yourself sitting right now. These uninterrupted sitting sessions contribute to more than 80% of Americans not getting enough exercise; a key component of our growing ‘under-muscled and over-fat’ society.

Since 1950, the number of sedentary jobs have increased 83%, while the number of active jobs have only increased by 20%. This is problematic because living a mostly sedentary lifestyle, despite how society’s progression has encouraged it, increases someone’s risk of premature death rate by 71%.

Achievement Alchemy started as Try-force Fitness 7 years ago in Missouri when Ben and Peyton were training together in college. Separating after college, Ben moved to California to chase his dream of being a personal trainer, while Peyton entered corporate advertising and medical system health coaching. While in their respective industries, both came to the conclusion that the fitness industry needed to evolve to better service its clientele. We are all about cultivating communities of healthy people and working every day to raise the standard of care for people ready to commit to change.

Ben has been an ACE certified trainer for 7 years with specialized training in behavior change, nutrition, and weight management. He has clients of all backgrounds, including those born without legs, those with multiple nerve diseases, and those who have never been in a gym before. His belief that there are truly no limitations but those we believe in has become a shared belief with every client.

Peyton started her fitness journey after stumbling upon Chalene Johnson's Turbo Jam as a 7th grader to help herself perform better in Track & Field. She'd go on to place at a high level in multiple sports across the state, compete on American Ninja Warrior and train aspiring athletes. Making a resolution to become healthier is a good decision, no matter when you do it; so as long as you are ready to entertain and implement what it means to change.

While many people wait to make these type of resolutions in January, research shows that it’s not really the best time for a new health or fitness goal. After all, more than 42 percent of people say that they fail to achieve their New Year’s resolution every year. Emerging research shows that if you wait until after the holidays to start working on better health, it can put you at a disadvantage. This is why we’re talking about it ‘ahead of schedule.’
▪️
Did you know the most popular resolutions for 2021 were exercising more and improving fitness (50% of participants), losing weight (48% of participants), saving money (44% of participants), and improving diet (39% of participants)? Of those that made a resolution in 2020, only 35% kept all their resolutions.
▪️

Here are some steps to consider when seek to secure a big stretch goal:
