Not gonna lie… my recovery has been REAL smooth 😌 and I owe it all to my students 💆🏽‍♀️✨
My students have been massaging me as part of their training, and let’s just say—the teacher is enjoying the benefits!
What a perk of teaching lymphatic drainage… they learn, and I get taken care of 😂✨

👁️ Dr. Patricia Bath,

Invented laser surgery to treat cataracts - Laserphaco Probe. Her invention restored sight to people who had been blind for decades! Dr. Bath holds multiple medical patents and was the first Black woman doctor to receive a medical patent. Dr. Bath coined the term “community ophthalmology” to bring eye care to underserved communities.

She changed eye surgery forever!

Thank you, Dr. Patricia Bath ✊🏽

🩺 Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler,

Was the first Black woman physician in the United States in 1864. Dr. Crumpler provided medical care to newly freed enslaved people after the Civil War. She was the author of one of the first medical books by a Black physician - ‘A Book of Medical Discourses’ that focused on women’s and children’s health (way ahead of its time!)

She opened the door for Black women in medicine.

Thank you, Dr. Rebecca Lee Crumpler ✊🏽

Let’s talk about the not-so-sweet side of cosmetic surgery: infections. 🩹
Surgery is beautiful when done safely, but the healing process can come with risks if not properly managed.

Here’s what to watch for:
🚨 Redness that spreads instead of fades
🚨 Increasing pain, warmth, or swelling around your incision
🚨 Yellow, green, or foul-smelling drainage
🚨 Fever, chills, or feeling unwell

What to do if you notice these signs:
1️⃣ Contact your surgeon immediately — don’t wait.
2️⃣ Keep the area clean and avoid squeezing or applying unapproved products.
3️⃣ Follow all post-op instructions carefully, including your antibiotics if prescribed.
4️⃣ Book your lymphatic drainage sessions — they support proper circulation and healing.

Prevention starts with care.

When healing with Nurse Sheri… I help clients recover safely, monitor for complications, and keep healing on track — because your results matter as much as your health. 💉✨
