Last Thursday Koetting Eye Center received the Fr. Sheridan Reflection of Hope award given by Hope Ignites (formerly Boys Hope Girls Hope).
The award is named after Fr. Paul Sheridan, S.J, a local educator who founded the original Jesuit Program of Living and Learning which later on became Boys Hope Girls Hope. This nonprofit organization helps motivated young people in need reach their full potential through educational support and long-term mentoring.
The Hope Ignites St. Louis residential campus is located in Richmond Heights and consists of a boys' home and a girls' home, where up to 21 enrolled scholars live year-round. They receive holistic support in a safe and secure family-like setting, including family-style meals every evening.
The Academy Program offers a one-of-a-kind youth development program for 24 scholars in 5th-12th grade every day in the evening 4 days a week.
Hope Ignites continues to support it's scholars even after graduating high school through scholarships, help with navigating financial aid, case management, virtual counseling, and securing internships and networking after graduating college.
Koetting is proud to partner with Hope Ignites over the last 8 years, offering annual checkups, glasses, and more to the scholars in the program.
It is a great honor to be presented with this award!
