I got my tomato plants in a little late this season and hoped for just ONE tomato. I've had one growing on the vine for several weeks and have been cheering on my solo tomato's growth. And then I found this. 😑.
Now I know how the witch in Into the Woods feels. I should've laid a curse on that squirrel!

Spice berry (Lindera benzoin) blessings! Hiking this morning lead me to a copse of spicebush. The berries are super aromatic, a little peppery and a little citrusy. I love drying them slightly and grating them on top of dishes that need a little zing (the also are amazing in sugar cookies!)
