Ashley had a rough month with migraines and some other things that kept her out of the gym, but sheโ€™s feeling much better and got some very exciting news last week.

She was accepted into nursing school program a semester early and can finally finish what she started couple years ago! On top of that, that required her to get new scrubs and sheโ€™s down a pants size in the process!

Proud of you in so many ways is an understatement! This is your time to complete something that youโ€™ve wanted all your life, I know youโ€™re going to be great, and Iโ€™m here to help along the way! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ฏ

How am I doing this:
โบ๏ธ Training each sessions with intent vs just going through the motions.
โบ๏ธ Tracking calories/macros honestly, while still enjoying a cheat meal weekly.
โบ๏ธ Prioritizing recovery (stretching, sleep, post workout nutrition, etc).

I preach this to clients all the time, weight loss is a marathon vs a sprint. Youโ€™re going to have times in life when you go all in or when to coast. As long as you stay consistent youโ€™re going to see progress!

Iโ€™ve been training Derek on and off for 4 years now and this has by far been the most consistent heโ€™s been and thatโ€™s whatโ€™s itโ€™s all about! Consistency, which in turns makes this a lifestyle vs a diet!

This month marks me celebrating 10 years in the fitness industry!

10 years? Where did the time go!?

From front desk/porter in big box gyms to personal training in multiple areas (big box, corporate wellness, schools/universities, private training studios, etc) the overall goal has never changed: To show others that incorporating fitness into your daily activities makes a positive difference in multiple ways of life.

Has it been easy? Lol, absolutely not.

Have I wanted to quit? Multiple times, but Iโ€™ve always find a way to keep going! My mom has always told me that since I started training/losing my own weight I was born to do this and I have a guardian angel in heaven (.kozkoz) counting on me to make a true difference in this world!

If you have been a client/mentor/fellow coach I just want to say thank you for trusting me with your fitness goals or showing me how this industry works over the years!

Over the weekend I got Bryn to do the Murph workout (her 1st time) and earlier this morning I did mine as well with some of the other members of the gym!

If you donโ€™t know this workout is honor of Michael Murphy who was a Navy Seal killed in Afghanistan in 2005. The workout consists of:

For time (while wearing a 20lbs vest):
-1 Mile Run
-300 Bwt squats
-200 Bwt pushups
-100 Bwt pull ups
-1 mile Run

Granted you can scale this workout to your fitness level, but this workout is suppose to be HARD and every year on Memorial Day weekend itโ€™s gets bigger! A pessimist would call this tradition silly. Is doing some hard workout really teaching us anything about the ultimate sacrifice soldiers make for our freedom?

Iโ€™m really not sure, but we all need to remember what this day/weekends all about and thatโ€™s about remembering why we get these freedoms we do; to honor the fallen by that gave the ultimate sacrifice for us the greatest country in the world!

In total sheโ€™s down 55+lbs in the past 5 months! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜Ž

Granted she tweaked her back last week and has been dealing with chronic migraines on and off this whole month, but that did not stop her for doing what she could in the gym and focusing on the bigger hurdle nutrition. Itโ€™s easy to fall off when injuries happen or just canโ€™t make it to the gym and thatโ€™s when you find a work around/stay consistent which is the overall goal!

She is truly finding out how strong she is, and how this is an outlet to help with daily challenges!

As a coach this is what we love to see when the mindset shifts and the confidence comes out, but as her bf itโ€™s an extra special process ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜˜.

Zach has been working on getting stronger with the big 3 lifts as weโ€™ve seen in a previous video, but he also is changing his body composition in the process!

Since the last scan:
โฌ‡๏ธ 4lbs
โฌ‡๏ธ 2.5% body fat
โฌ†๏ธ 1lbs of muscle

The main thing Zach is doing is staying consistent with training with me 3x a week and on his own another 2x a week.

Consistency is the key ๐Ÿ”‘ to long term success!
