Wilmington Clinic

Wilmington Clinic Chiropractic care using specialized treatment and rehabilitation for a variety of conditions and information on improving your diet and overall health.

Our office is located at 4918 Weber Rd, 63123 ("the old Kendrick's market") in South County just 1 mile West of Bayless and I-55, or 1 block East of Gravois and Weber Rd at the Weber/Dana intersection. See the site map for exact driving directions. Dr. Fiscella has been in private practice since 1977, when he first was mentored by Dr. Ken Yochum. The Wilmington Clinic has been serving patients since 1953. We utilize several alternative approaches of chiropractic -- Receptor-Tonus technique as originated by Dr. Raymond Nimmo D.C., Graston Technique, Myofascial release technique, and acupressure to focus on the soft tissues of the body (muscles, ligaments and tendons) to release muscle tension and improve body function ["MUSCLES MOVE BONES, BONES DO NOT MOVE MUSCLES"] as well as the traditional adjustment. In addition, we have a complete diagnostic and rehabilitative facility to include rehab exercise, hot/cold packs, ultrasound, cold laser, muscle stimulation, traction, spinal decompression, acupressure/acupuncture, blood+live-cell analysis, and x-ray. Speciality procedures are available for acute/chronic "sinus sufferers" as well as for those patients who suffer with "frequent colds, post-nasal drip ,allergies, etc" with the use of Endo-Nasal Technique (Sinoplasty and Pharyngeal Sweeps) and specific dietary enhancements.

Could your hips be causing your low back pain? 🤔

The hip joint moves like a ball in a socket. But when your hips are weak or stiff, they can't move as well.

This puts extra strain on your lower back, causing pain.

That's why treating both your lower back and your hips is important when dealing with back pain! 💪

How important is it for the joint to pop during an adjustment? 🤔

It turns out that the pop isn’t that important.

The pop comes from gases being released in the joint during the adjustment. But regardless of a pop, joints move, and muscles relax after an adjustment!

Are you experiencing pain in the outer part of your elbow? It could be tennis elbow, which affects tennis players and anyone doing repetitive arm movements.

While most treatment is focused on strengthening the wrist extensor muscles, a recent study found that “nerve flossing” was even more effective in treating tennis elbow.

Fortunately, nerve flossing is one of the tools that our office uses to combat pain. Whether tennis elbow keeps you off the courts or gives you pain with opening jars, contact our clinic today! 🙌

Why do we evaluate the muscles and joints that aren’t in pain? 🤔

For example, if you suffered a pulled hamstring, why would we evaluate your back as well?

The reason is that it is all connected! 🧩

To expand on the hamstring example, it was found that those with a history of hamstring strain had increased stiffness in the muscles in the lower back.

If we only treat the hamstring and ignore the back, you might not fully recover when you return to your daily activities.
