Check out this fantastic opportunity for new moms (with kids 0-2 years) in the St. Louis area. This program is led by a friend of mine who has great experience in both working with families and hiking! This sounds like a great opportunity to meet other moms, get some fresh air and gentle exercise, and enjoy some beautiful fall scenery.

The program is offered through Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed, but is open to anyone in the St. Louis area, regardless of school district.

Did you know that at least 1 in 10 dads experience symptoms of a mood or anxiety disorder after a new baby joins their family? Postpartum Support International offers free support tailored to dads experiencing depression or anxiety. Mental health for dads is so rarely discussed, and even knowing that you are not alone can mean so much.

You are always welcome to reach out for referrals and recommendations for moms, dads, or anyone who would benefit from mental health support. In addition to national resources like Postpartum Support International, we have many local mental health professionals who specialize in working with new parents.

May is Maternal Mental Health Month, and I'll be highlighting some of the resources that exist for moms who are struggling with a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder, or simply need some more support when things feel heavy. One in five moms experience a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder, such as postpartum depression. You are not alone and help is available.

As we celebrate this special week, I want to take a moment to reflect on the beautiful work that doulas do, and how lucky I am to be a part of this incredible community.

Being a postpartum doula is truly a privilege. I get to support families as they navigate one of the most transformative periods of their lives. From emotional support to practical help, and everything in between, it’s my honor to be there for families during this memorable time.

A huge thank you our local St. Louis doula community for your unwavering support, inspiration, and kindness. You all make such a difference in the lives of so many, and I am grateful to walk alongside each of you in this work.
