UMSL Counseling Services

Providing low-cost therapy and free mental health training to UMSL students since 1966. Initial assessments are provided free of charge.

UMSL Counseling Services offers counseling, crisis intervention and consultation to support the mental health of all UMSL students. Ongoing counseling services are provided for a nominal fee. Individual counseling services are available to students currently enrolled at UMSL. Please call or stop by our office to schedule an initial assessment. We provide crisis intervention services for UMSL students who need help quickly. Please call or walk into our office during normal business hours. When you arrive, we will ask you to complete initial assessment paperwork. You will then meet with a clinician who can provide assessment and quickly connect you to appropriate services. Concerned about an UMSL student? Please call or stop by our office and ask to speak to the walk-in clinician. We will gladly offer consultation to help you effectively support the student and provide information about resources and services that are available.

April is Counseling Awareness Month & we're bringing back our daily trivia and giveaways to celebrate! ✨ This year each giftbag will include a viral squishy toy (the gum drop? we've got it. the mystery dumpling squishies?! yep, we've got them too). Check out our stories on weekdays from 4/1-4/10 and answer our daily trivia question correctly to be entered into a drawing. Here are the rules:

🔱 Winners must be current UMSL students (graduate & doctoral students are welcome), faculty, or staff.
☝️You can only win once. You can enter multiple times though, so if you aren't selected as the daily winner keep trying!
