Dear friends,
There are voices everywhere asking for aid. "Tis the season of Giving," "It is Giving Tuesday" "HELP!" and here I am asking for your financial support of the Institute of American Acupuncture & Life Medicine (IAALM), a 501 (c)(3) health services organization.
Established in 2002, IAALM has provided over 12,000 patient treatments: treating in church basements, convents, storefronts, homeless shelters, and middle-class suburban clinics; providing services to homeless individuals & families, undocumented laborers, political refugees from Africa, Eastern Europe, Central & South America, people falling through the cracks. In addition, we have taught classes and provided multi-lingual information pamphlets concerning children's health and nutrition, as well as professional-level classes to those wishing to study the healing arts of Masahilo M. Nakazono Osensei, founder of Kototama Life Medicine. In 2015, IAALM published an eBook of recipes Dr. Duckworth learned from Osensei, Natural Medicine from the Kitchen; the paperback edition became available in 2017. In 2021, IAALM published a hardbound textbook, Inochi Energy Medicine; this Spring's second printing will be a paperback edition.
Currently, Dr. Duckworth is editing a 700-page compilation of instructions from the teachings of Nakazono Osensei, Dr. Duckworth, and Kototama Institute classes that IAALM will publish as a technical manual of traditional medicine. In addition, IAALM continues remote teaching and has been nationally approved to provide Continuing Education courses for Acupuncturists and practitioners of Oriental Medicine.
These are exciting times, but all these actions need funding. We are a small non-profit organization relying on your generosity to provide these services, publish, and continue teaching Kototama Inochi Medicine. Thus, I write this appeal as the year ends, knowing we are opening to a new year of health, growth, peace, and collaborative care. Thank you.
Your friend,
Tom Duckworth
