Rose Quartz (SiO2 + Ti + Fe) - Such an unassuming crystal, Rose Quartz is often forgotten about, simply for its ready availability. This stone is usually found in large masses within pegmatitic granite (slow cooling lava from igneous volcanoes), without crystal faces being formed.

Usually. There are some known euhedral (with visible crystal faces) specimens out there that have been found and sold for upwards of $550,000.

The color of this crystal can be attributed to a small amount of silicon (Si) being replaced by titanium (Ti) or iron (Fe). There are some who believe aluminum (Al) and/or phosphorus (P) are also contributing, depending on the rock and rock location, but there is still plenty of ongoing science.

This is one of the crystals I recommend to empaths or people beginning to learn about crystals, because it centers you on love, surrounding yourself in a pink aura that doesn’t let bad enter but allows for you to continue to radiate love to all who need it.

Rose quartz is here to remind you to go back to your center - your heart. It sends positive energy to every ounce of your being, being your ally during times of great anxiety. What better way to deal with these energies than to remember to love yourself first, and to love thy neighbor? Both Archangels Raphael and Chamuel come in strong, holding that heart chakra steady, which in turn keeps you grounded, feeling safe, and making you able to vibrate at a much lighter wavelength.

Take some time for yourself today and this upcoming week. Stand strong in taking care of yourself first, because otherwise how can we take care of those around us when we are running on empty? This sphere’s simple message is to go back to your heart. Meditate with the stone, and know I am dedicating this specimen for all for this week, seeing as its shape allows for its energies to go in all directions.

Snowflake Obsidian (SiO2) - This is technically not a mineral, but a volcanic glass. One of the oldest specimens in my collection, this little guy has quite a different story to tell than most. It has explosive origins, coming from felsic lava flows, which are characterized as having a higher ratio of lighter materials, such as silica and volatiles, than heavier materials. This little guy came from a Mount St. Helens type volcanoes rather than what we see on the Hawaiian islands.

Obsidian is marked by the absence of crystallization (hence why it is considered a glass and not a crystal), which is due to the chains of polymers blocking the formations, as well as the high viscosity of the material preventing any movement. The white spots you see are called Cristobalites, which are simply another polymorph of quartz. The cristobalites help geologists figure out the temperature of when it solidified, but that’s for another class on another day.

By looking at this, us woo woo folks can tell it is a grounding stone, but it feels so much more than that. You feel grounded, but you are able to draw certain emotions up to the surface for processing, as well as examine those patterns that are no longer serving you, guiding you back to your soul’s center. Use this stone today to really work on those emotions you’ve been holding back on processing, as snowflake obsidian keeps you safe during it, and keeps you grounded. Fun tidbit - if you start to experience high pitch ringing, hold or meditate on this specimen, as this helps with grounding you enough to get the wavelengths of the info coming in to be translated into something you can handle. If holding, hold with your receptive hand.

Crystal Wisdoms | Happy Friday and Eclipse Season!

Wow. This eclipse season is something else. This crystal surprised me, as I haven’t shown her on here in quite a while. I love it for what we are experiencing though. Sometimes we do need that iron curtain of Black Tourmaline within the magic of white moonstone to set who we leave in our lives straight.

White Moonstone with Black Tourmaline [(NaAlSi3O8 + KAlSi3O8) + (NaFe3Al6Si6O18(BO3)3(OH)3OH)] - As recently experienced a full moon, I figured it was time to get to know another goddess stone. Forming from layers of albite and orthoclase, this specimen happened to grow with a gap in the rock, letting hot, mineral-rich liquid seep in and form black tourmaline. This can usually be seen in areas with hydrothermal activity.

This is such an interesting combo. You see, there is white moonstone, representing the heavens, while black tourmaline comes in representing the earth. The white moonstone working towards your crown chakra while the black tourmaline works with your root chakra. To me, anyway, it feels very goddess-like - grounded to the earth but still able to work with the heavens.

This stone comes in to connect us to our dreams, those we hold so dear when we work with the lunar phases. As an added bonus, it brings in a protective layer in the form of black tourmaline, keeping our dreams and us safe from outside negative energies. As you work with it today, picture yourself in a beautiful moonlit aura that is impenetrable, working through those things you want to make happen as well as taking advantage of the energies to “let go” of that that no longer serves you. After all, it is making room for that which you wish to manifest into your life - embrace the decluttering aspect of the full moon energies.

The shape of the stone was done on purpose, so the energy radiates in all directions when you work with it. May you have a beautiful experience with this goddess energy in the 3D form.

Protection Stones

I have posted these before - It is difficult for me to narrow down to four stones to display when I first made this, but I can talk about other options here as well.

When seeking protection, we have a wide range to choose from. As with all stones, each protection stone works differently with each person, so please keep this in mind.

Without further delay, here are my choices in protection stones:

💖 Aegerine - similar in look to black tourmaline but formed very differently. Very iron curtain like, but instills confidence in the route you’re trying to take in your life.

💖Smoky Quartz - worn by warriors up until even as late as WWI, I love this option for my spiritual warriors that do so much on the other side at night.

💖 Shungite - made of carbon, this works a lot like how filtering carbon works - traps lower energetic frequencies within its make up, and so much more - I even did a video about it you can watch here:

💖 Black Tourmaline - the OG protection crystal, I like this one for those who just aren’t sure which crystal to get but need **something** when protection is needed. It is very strong, spiritual iron curtain.

Honorable mentions - Jet is a great option that I love, hypersthene as well. If anyone recommends hematite to you, throw it back at them 😂 (I’m kidding. But also no).

Smoky Quartz (SiO₂₊) - When quartz gets hit with radiation from the uranium in surrounding bedrock, the color centers around aluminum inclusions will be activated and give us the well known brown hue we all love. Found in several spots around the world, the most notable to me is this is the national gem of Scotland, called Cairngorm (from the Cairngorm Mountains).

[Note from author: A lot of help for this post came from Hazel Raven’s book, “Crystal Healing - The Complete Practitioners Guide”. She is an amazing mentor, friend and guide for me, and I hope you learn from her hard-earned wisdom within this post, too.]

Which brings me to this - this is the warrior’s stone. Smoky Quartz has a deep history with warriors. It instills protection and was carried into battle, as late as WWI. Today, it steps forward to PROTECT the authentic ones. This stone also steps forward to help you see beyond the veil of illusion.

By instilling protection and wonderful insight in seeing the BS, it fills up your root chakra (and frankly, your third eye) with confidence and love, something we should all radiate during this wonderful season.

We are rooting for you.
