Received the nicest note with a donation today ... "Peregrine Society cared for my dad in his last days 23 years ago now. He appreciated the support but even more the sense of community that Peregrine gave him. My siblings and I will never forget that." Sometimes we lose sight of how important our services are to the cancer patients who receive them and their families. This was a lovely reminder. Thanks to all of our supporters who make what we do possible.

Last week on Friday, Laura, Julie and I took a trip to the zoo for lunch. A tradition begun by former Director, Fred Wessels. It's been a few years since we have done it but the perfect weather last Friday made it the exact right day to reinstate the tradition!

Yesterday was a fun afternoon for me! I had a special volunteer, Violet Wessels (Fred's granddaughter), who brought her Cricut machine to the office. She made all of these super cute cutouts for our trivia night silent auction baskets😍 The containers are so cute, I think our guests will be bidding on them as much as for what's inside! Thank you Violet for adding some pizazz to the auction! And don't forget to mark your calendars, Trivia Night is March 7, 2026 at Electrical Workers' Hall! Hope to see you there☘️

On Sunday, Peregrine participated in the Halloween event sponsored by the Bennett Project. The weather was not cooperative for trunk or treat but the event went with participating organizations setting up on the covered walkways. Saw lots of cute costumes and friends who had been on the Branson trip!

White Castle is celebrating serving up sliders for 100 years in St. Louis this year. To celebrate they have created "The Lou" combo to mark this milestone. Hope you can help them celebrate by picking up a combo. We remain grateful to White Castle for the great work they do to support local charitable organizations - in the "Round Up at the Register" campaigns of 2023/24, over $98,000 was raised to support Peregrine Society programs. Congratulations to all our friends at White Castle.

It's been a little over a year since the woman crashed into our building last May. Repairs were finally completed in January. When we arrived at the office on Thursday morning this week, another car had gone shooting across our lawn around 9 pm Wednesday, taking out a tree which ended up on the lot next door along with most of the mess and debris. We are grateful the building was missed this time and don't know the condition of the person driving the car but hoping their injuries weren't severe. Also thinking maybe Hampton drivers need to take the speed down a notch. Have a safe and happy weekend!

We had a great weekend in Branson! There was a bit of weather on the way down but nothing severe after that. Saturday on the Landing was wonderful and special thanks to the businesses that offered discounts to our group - Paula Deen's Country Kitchen where all kids ate free at dinner on Friday; Build-A-Bear which offered their 'birthday party' discount to our group (you can see from the photos how popular that was with kids and parents); free face painting at Julie's Face Painting kiosk; discount at Ridemakerz; free pretzels for the kids at Auntie Ann's; discount at Zo's Coffee...it was such a fun outing and a happy addition to the weekend. Dolly Parton's Stampede never ceases to delight. While the weather forecast for Sunday was iffy, it ended up being fine for our day at Silver Dollar City. Rain began just as the bus was heading back to the hotel for the pizza party. Monday we headed home, stopping for lunch in Rolla at Sirloin Stockade where they had everything ready for us ... lots of buffet choices and a really kind and attentive staff. Before I finish this post, I can't say enough about our friends at Grand Oaks Hotel, Mike, Kathy & Marlene ... we are treated like royalty during our stay. And the amount of love they show to all of us still resonates after we get home. There is no better place for us to be in all of Branson! Also, I'd like to recognize our busdrivers, Bernice & Albert from Vandalia Bus Lines for safely getting us to and from each location, helping with luggage, and assisting us with getting on and off the buses.

It's a little more than a month until the Branson trip and we are getting some really cute things for the kiddos. These adorable fleece blankets and matching pillows were made by Bonnie Dolson and arrived at our office today from her home in Texas! We let each child choose a blanket and pillow before we get on the buses. A little nap on the bus is a good thing, right and even more fun when you get to choose your own blanket and pillow🩷💛💙
