We had a great weekend in Branson! There was a bit of weather on the way down but nothing severe after that. Saturday on the Landing was wonderful and special thanks to the businesses that offered discounts to our group - Paula Deen's Country Kitchen where all kids ate free at dinner on Friday; Build-A-Bear which offered their 'birthday party' discount to our group (you can see from the photos how popular that was with kids and parents); free face painting at Julie's Face Painting kiosk; discount at Ridemakerz; free pretzels for the kids at Auntie Ann's; discount at Zo's Coffee...it was such a fun outing and a happy addition to the weekend. Dolly Parton's Stampede never ceases to delight. While the weather forecast for Sunday was iffy, it ended up being fine for our day at Silver Dollar City. Rain began just as the bus was heading back to the hotel for the pizza party. Monday we headed home, stopping for lunch in Rolla at Sirloin Stockade where they had everything ready for us ... lots of buffet choices and a really kind and attentive staff. Before I finish this post, I can't say enough about our friends at Grand Oaks Hotel, Mike, Kathy & Marlene ... we are treated like royalty during our stay. And the amount of love they show to all of us still resonates after we get home. There is no better place for us to be in all of Branson! Also, I'd like to recognize our busdrivers, Bernice & Albert from Vandalia Bus Lines for safely getting us to and from each location, helping with luggage, and assisting us with getting on and off the buses.
