Missouri Midwives' Association Position Statement on Preceptor Supervision:
The North American Registry of Midwives’ Candidate Information Bulletin requires that all preceptors must be “physically present” in order to provide supervision to a student in any phase. Missouri state law requires that someone must hold a “ministerial or tocological certification” - the NARM CPM credential - or be recognized as a Certified Nurse Midwife or Certified Midwife to provide legal midwifery care. All students must be supervised in-person by a legal midwife until they have received their certification.

The registration page for our summer retreat is now up on the website. It will be July 10 through July 12 in Fenton, Mo. In spite of the late notice, we have great speakers lined up, seven hours of CEU available, 8th edition NRP, our annual business meeting and election of officers, and a bunch of other good stuff. We have beds available for $50 a night at the bed and breakfast we have rented.
Look at the retreat page on the website for further information!

There is a petition going around to make an amendment to the Missouri constitution to make collaborative practice agreements for nurse practitioners voluntary. Missouri nurses have been trying to pass a law for years. It’s time. If you are a registered voter and would like to sign it, pm me and we can find a petition circulator near you.
