Happy Thursday!

My kids and I are excited that December 1st starts our Holiday Moorer Moveaction Tradition and ChristKwanzaa.
Curious to what that is?

Moveaction is 32 days of holiday movies and fun filled activities. We alternate in pulling from our holiday movie jar whatever is pulled that’s the movie for the evening. Each year we add to the jar full of movies including going to the theatre.

Every other day we pull from our holiday activities jar. Whatever is pulled thats the activity for the next day including pulling for our weekend adventures. In that jar examples are:

Ice skating
Winter fest
Volunteer at an organization
Game night
Traveling to see lights
Hot cocoa, s’mores
Mini golf downtown

Now are you wondering what’s ChristKwanzaa?
Well The Moorer’s tradition is that we incorporate both holidays into one. Celebrating the culture 12/24-1/01. Not only do the kids receive but they give as well for a week along with acknowledging each principal as directed and incorporating in our daily routine.

The fact my kids love our tradition is amazing and warms my heart because they can pass it down to their family as they get older.

Last but not least each year this family have ornament exchange. We pull to pick who has who this year to purchase an ornament that will represent them of the year. During the 12 days of Christmas we gift the ornaments to one another and share why we picked that ornament and place it on the tree and every year we go through all the ornaments we received and have conversations about it. Oh and let’s not forget my sweet Khloe likes to cook pancakes every weekend for the house 🥰🥞😋

For me it’s offering parenting tips using our Nine PBS resources for all parents and caregivers regardless of the child’s age. Keep parents and caregivers up-to-date on trends, spark ideas for celebrations, bring hope to the new norm of living while parenting and feature positive news stories about families right here in the St. Louis region and giving them opportunities to use their voice.
