It's my birthday today! and just a few thoughts...

When I was little, the adults around me often told me to stop talking so much.

I talked a lot… and frequently got into trouble because of my mouth.

But what they didn’t realize back then is that my curiosity, questions, and words would become my greatest strengths.

If I could hug that little girl today (as in the AI photo), I’d tell her:
“Keep talking. Keep asking. Keep wondering. Your voice will take you places your silence never could.”

A little trouble never hurt nobody, especially when it’s the kind that helps you grow into who you’re meant to be. 💫

You’re not the only one quietly burning out, you’re just the one hiding it best. it’s time for real self-care, not just survival mode.

So honored to be featured in Essence’s piece, “Expat Diaries: Black Women Aging Abroad Are Embracing The Power Of Communal Living.”

In the article, I shared my perspective on the healing power of community on our mental health, physical health, and even longevity. For Black women especially, aging together in supportive, communal spaces is more than companionship, it’s cultural, restorative, and life-affirming.

Grateful to contribute to this conversation about wellness, belonging, and what it truly means to thrive as we age.

You can see a bruise. You can’t see PTSD.
And that’s why emotional trauma from police brutality is so often undervalued in court.

I help attorneys change that.
By linking police violence to measurable psychological and physical impacts, we can transform invisible suffering into undeniable evidence—raising settlements, shifting policies, and giving clients true validation.

He wasn’t just pushed out of a job. He was traumatized.
🧠⚖️ Racial trauma is real — and it’s legally relevant.

Missouri lawyers, are you missing out on major settlement leverage by treating racial discrimination like it’s just a paperwork issue?

📈 With EEOC charges climbing and historic settlements stacking up, it’s time to shift your legal lens:
🧾 Frame racial harm as trauma
📎 Use local data
📢 Demand employer-funded therapy

🔥 The blog breaks down 3 winning legal strategies and shows how emotional damages = powerfully persuasive settlements.
