Have you ever heard of the “Safety Pin Cycle”?
It’s one of the simplest ways to understand how chiropractic works with your nervous system.

How Toys for Tots began...

One of my favorite stories to tell—especially this time of year—is how Toys for Tots began. It’s a story rooted in service, compassion, and the unwavering commitment of a Marine and his wife to make a difference in the lives of children in need.

In 1947, Major Bill Hendricks, a Marine Reservist, was inspired by his wife Diane. She had handcrafted a few dolls and asked Bill to find an organization that could get them into the hands of children in need. When he couldn’t find one, she simply said, “Start one.” And like any good Marine, Bill followed orders.

With the help of his fellow Marines in the Los Angeles Reserve Center, Major Hendricks collected and distributed over 5,000 toys that first year alone. What began as a local effort quickly caught the attention of the Marine Corps—and by 1948, Toys for Tots was adopted as a nationwide mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve.

Today, nearly eight decades later, that same spirit of giving continues to drive us. From a few handcrafted dolls to millions of toys each year, it all started with one simple idea: every child deserves a little joy.

That mission is more important now than ever. Across the Nation, far too many families are struggling just to make ends meet. But with your support, we can continue to deliver hope—and remind every child that they matter. Whether it's a new toy, a financial contribution, or simply spreading the word, your support fuels this mission. Join us as we carry on this proud tradition of giving.
