Pathways to Independence

Pathways to Independence Pathways to Independence supports the development of skills that positively impact the lives of adul Clients are St.

Louis area residents diagnosed with a learning disability or associated developmental disorder including Asperger’s Syndrome. While they qualify for some support, they are not eligible for most services individuals with more severe disabilities receive. Our participants want fulfilling experiences with friends and acquaintances in the mainstream of life like everyone else. The participants are adults who want to be independent, to interact effectively and be a part of the fabric of the community. As participants gain self-confidence and a feeling of competence, they experience increased employment readiness, useful life skills and a greater ability to engage in meaningful relationships. The clients gain a "quality of life" that ultimately translates into independent, productive, more fulfilled lives - their goal and our mission.

β˜•πŸΎ Find Your People in St. Charles County! On Saturday, Participant Ambassador KP joined Al, Kelli, and Grace at the Black Cat Coffee Cafe Project - a pop-up coffee shop on a mission to empower teens and young adults with disabilities through hands-on job experience.

We had the chance to chat with amazing staff, proud supporters, and new friends from across the community (even Rene Knott from KSDK News stopped by! πŸŽ₯)

The cafe was full of warm coffee, sweet treats, and even sweeter conversations. This is what it looks like when you show up for each other. Thank you to each and every person involved - especially the Coffee Crew!

Follow Black Cat Coffee Cafe Project to catch their next pop-up and support something truly special in St. Charles County🌟
