Today is Juneteenth.
A day of freedom delayed but not denied.
A day to honor the strength, courage, and spirit of those who endured slavery—and those who carried the fight for freedom forward.

We remember that on June 19, 1865, the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas were finally told they were free—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation.
Juneteenth is a celebration, a reckoning, a mourning, and a call.

We celebrate Black resilience, brilliance, culture, and joy.
We reflect on the weight of our nation’s history.
We continue to work for a future rooted in justice and equality.
