From 93 to age 9. A story for another day, but a happy holiday to say the least. Spending Rosh Hashanah in Israel just hits different. Especially when you get to spend it with your grandparents and great grandparents.

The real good genes campaign.

Sometimes it takes me a moment to even fathom the stories of family. The remarkable memories that are shared amongst generations of people who have lived a life most will never understand. We are so privileged from where we stand we often have no perspective. Nothing but books most choose to never open. Just fingers to type and sift through information targeted to align with what’s popular or trending.

4 GENERATIONS. A son with a grandma. One who helped raise him as he slept between her and his grandpa so many nights with a young mom. May his memory be a blessing.

As far as this Safta goes, I got to listen to the stories last night. The story of leaving Iraq during the world war to escape persecution as a Jew. Less than 3 months old with no mother or father. A mother who died shortly after her birth of a heart attack. Breast fed from a woman in the village as she was barely leaving a foot print on earth. Her brother to raise her. They fled Iraq with no shoes on. This is the foot print. Nothing to their name. Just bare foot steps to somewhere. Anywhere. A place to not hide.

4 sisters. Two brothers. No parents. Making a journey to the unknown after the police removed them from their home to hide in a synagogue in Baghdad. Finally leaving Iraq after the war ended at the exact age Yuli is. To Cyprus. Then to Israel.

There is so much more to the story. Things we just can’t simply fathom or imagine. To see 4 generations in a photo means everything. For great grandma Cohen is a holocaust survivor without a single memory of those years to share. No photos. No belongings. No idea what her parents looked like. A single survivor in her family today. Just her 6 kids and countless grandkids to share her story with. Gladly when asked. I feel honored and extremely lucky to live in the presence of her and countless stories that one day Yuli will tell about the great grandma she knew and loved. This is Judaism.❤️

Behind every successful man is a successful woman.

But sometimes it’s just the man who truly just lets you take the bull by the horns and straps on for dear life. Every single stage of insanity I’ve been through, he’s there. Every party, idea, struggle, move, rant, and odd job. There’s Ornir.

Running a small business is a big job. One that takes all the time, energy, and strength most days. I believe that Ornir is one of the reasons for every thing I owe gratitude for. He just simply goes with the flow and often times wants so badly to say no, but never does. Every day I’m thankful for him. Without him I couldn’t possibly run this business.

So when the world is heavy. The internet is depressing. The monotony of every days struggles swallow you. Look to the bright side of things and thank each and every person who stands by your side. Whoever they are. 💕

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025

IT'S GOING TO BE A WICKED GOOD YEAR!

Hope everyone is having a happy, healthy, and safe new year. With all the winter weather we have had, I know the reviews are mixed! Thursday was my first day back to work after two weeks off and I feel like a new person. It was so good to step away for a while and rest. I was able to accomplish a lot at home, enjoy quality time with Yuli, see Wicked in theatres, and celebrate an epic birthday with close friends from all walks of life. It wasn't the big blowout I once imagined, but it turned out perfectly. The timing of my birthday is always poetic. A new age and a new year always seem to put me into the right mindset. Now just trying to maintain that! I am always excited to flip a new page and find new ways to be a better version of myself. I am not one for resolutions, but I am certainly one for recreation. This year I am determined to create a better balance between work, home, and social. I am hoping to make more plans for reconnecting with others socially and trying a bunch of new places in town. I designed every room in my home with a specific purpose in mind and promise to read books, not screens. Life at 40 hits different.

I am still on a mission to find a suitable home for the spa in the new year as well. For many of you who knew, I was planning a move across the street into a property that was significantly smaller and still within the neighborhood. Some obstacles arose and I decided to follow my gut on it. This is a major phase of my healing mindset going into the new year. I am better at listening to myself and others. I am taking time to make better decisions rather than jumping in to things that I haven't fully considered. Including my own thoughts and opinions! I am sure that I will find a perfect place to call "home" that will allow me the path to a more balanced being while still staying true to all I have created. This excites me greatly and I am lucky to have a wonderful relationship with the building owner here. Practicing gratitude for all of the many things I have to be thankful for is life changing. It is so easy to fall into feelings of despair with the state of the world, but this year I am thankful more than ever for all of the extreme challenges along the way. Even spending the past 6 days with a 9 year old with the flu. Nevertheless, she persisted!
