This week, Mental Health First Aid Instructors and Coordinators gathered in Columbia, Missouri, for an annual Summit. The energy in the room was electric! They shared stories, tips, and presentations on how to expand the reach of Mental Health First Aid across the state.

Thanks to the hard work and dedication for our teen, Youth, and Adult Mental Health First Aid instructors, Missouri now boasts over 100,000 Mental Health First Aiders!

From anxiety and depression to substance use and suicidal thoughts, today’s youth face challenges that can’t be ignored. Every student deserves someone who will listen, understand, and connect them to the right support.

Our Mental Health Awareness Trainings — including Youth Mental Health First Aid and Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) — help pre-service school staff feel more confident and prepared to support students in distress.

We’re offering these trainings at no cost to teacher training programs across Missouri, now through September 2026.
