Hi everyone! Here's another great group coming to Legacy Counseling! Please spread the word if you know anyone who might benefit from this group.

This is a 6-week psychoeducational group for those who identfy as female. It will address healthy s*xual expression; s*xual health; intimacy; boundaries; and skills to effectively communicate desires and needs. This group is for women who are partnered as well as unpartnered or have multiple partners. This will be a virtual group so we ask all participants to have confidential space that supports uninhibited participation and respects the privacy of other group members. Headphones are encouraged. Journals/notebooks may also be helpful. See flyer for more details.

Group dates: January 13th-February 17, 2022 on Thursday evenings from 6pm-7:30pm.

We're doing a virtual psycho-educational 6 week group for college students (university and trade school) ages 17-21. If you or someone you know is a college student who is having a hard time managing stress and struggling to cope with the pressures of school, this group will be great for you. It's not designed to help students treat mental health concerns, but will teach practical skills they can be used to cope with and manage your stress. We have some exciting news! We have a new group coming in January 2020. Healing Space is a group geared toward supporting those who are fighting for social and political change. Individuals who work in the area of activism often suffer from depression, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and other forms of emotional distress.This group will help clients process through the unique challenges of such work and heal from the emotional impact of pursing social change.

Meet Dawn Jones, LPC

Dawn is a licensed therapist and owner of Legacy Counseling and Consulting Services. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Trauma Studies Certificate from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. She obtained a Master of Arts in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary. She uses EMDR and DBT to help individuals, adolescents, families, and couples find relief from life challenges. Though she works with a range of emotional concerns, she specializes in helping people overcome trauma, s*xual abuse, s*x addiction,anxiety, and self-esteem issues.
