Grand Basin Yoga Forest Park Please visit diannalucas.com for registration. All levels welcome, no prior experience required. Hi and welcome to Grand Basin Yoga!

My classes offer inspiration from many traditions and include meditation, intention setting, calling in the elements, and directions, pranayama and appropriately challenging asana. Classes are very focused but delivered with a sense of humor. The practices are based upon the yogis who come to class. I check in to see what the students need each time and craft my session from there. I also include energy work during practice and offer verbal guidance and cueing. I make adjustments when necessary but I prefer for my students to get to the pose naturally and over time feeling them in their own bodies. It is a very personal experience. Classes are typically 60 to 70 minutes and I often play singing bowls with guided meditation/visualization along with time for silence during savasana. The music comes from the fountains of overflowing joy. All levels are welcome and practice is meant to inspire not discourage beginners. The community is very welcoming and diverse. There is often live music and opportunities to connect with other students after classes. Register via www.diannalucas.com

This is some wisdom shared by my dear friend and wise woman, Susanne Joie from her modality practice called Human Design.
It relates to our yoga practice as we become aware of our chakras ( centers of energy)
“Your Open Centers Are Here to Receive, Not Chase

In Human Design, open centers are the parts of us that are receptive. They’re here to sense, reflect, and experience life’s energy.

You were never meant to hold onto everything so tightly—Not every thought, emotion, or pressure to act, fix, or figure it all out.

Your openness was designed to move with life, to sense and respond, not to grip and control. But in a world that glorifies doing, it’s easy to forget that your power is in allowing.

I know this feeling well…
→ My open Head catches thoughts that aren’t mine to hold.
→ My open Solar Plexus feels others’ emotions.
→ My open Root pushes me to keep up, even when it’s not necessary.
→ My open Spleen clings to outdated fears and beliefs.

These centers weren’t meant to hold onto everything. “They’re here to feel, observe, and let life move through.”
I wasn’t made to force the path—I’m meant to flow with it.

What if…
→ Inspiration flowed effortlessly by giving it space?
→ Success felt natural because I was in sync with my design?
→ I led by trusting, knowing that simply being is enough?

This is the shift for me to remember—To slow down. To soften. To trust what’s already unfolding.
Open centers aren’t flaws—they’re openings to possibility. Spaces where life gently reminds you, “You don’t have to do more. Just receive.”

When I stop trying to make my openness act like something it’s not, it becomes magic.
→ My Head opens to creativity.
→ My Solar Plexus feels deeply without getting lost.
→ My Root trusts divine timing.
→ My Spleen lets go of what’s not mine.

When I stop trying to figure it all out, everything I need has space to come to me.

This is what it means to trust the design. Not to force, but to follow the rhythm of my energy.”

Can you relate?
Where are you holding?
Where are you open?
