That feeling of dread before opening a dating app? It's real, and you're not alone. The constant swiping, ghosting, and conversations that go nowhere can take a serious toll. We dive into why this happens and what to do about it in our latest blog post. CLick the link for the full guide to beating burnout.
Setting boundaries doesn’t make you hard to love, it makes you clear about what you need to stay well. You’re not pushing people away, you’re inviting the right kind of connection. The people meant for you will understand and honor your limits. The first step is believing that your peace is worth protecting.

Each time you go against your own rules, you chip away at your self-trust. Boundaries aren’t selfish—they’re self-respect.
05/30/2025
Most people hear "boundaries" and think of fences, ways to keep others out. But what if boundaries are actually the foundation you build your self on? They’re not just about saying "no" to others; they’re about saying "yes" to yourself. They reflect how you see yourself, what you truly believe you deserve, and how you act when life puts those beliefs to the test.
Ignoring your own limits isn't just about avoiding a tough conversation. It's a silent message you send yourself: "My needs don't count." Each time you let a boundary slide, you chip away at your self-esteem, leaving you feeling less confident and more resentful.

A real apology is more than just “I’m sorry.”
It’s a moment to show your partner you understand the impact of your actions and that you’re willing to grow.
Trust takes time, consistency, and vulnerability.

Rebuilding trust in a relationship isn’t about one apology or one grand gesture. It’s about showing up, again and again. If you’re struggling to reconnect, couples therapy at Lotus Rising can help.

I have an bachelors in Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University Missouri St. Louis (UMSL).
I have worked in an inpatient drugs and alcohol rehab and as a Community Support Specialist. These experiences have taught me how things are connected and how when one part of our lives are suffering it can seep into others.
I enjoy working with people who are having difficulties in their relationship, dating life and divorce. As a counselor I want to find your strengths and empower you to a better self. I want to help you decided what’s worth staying for and what isn’t.
I am currently a counselor at Diversity Health and Wellness Center in Kirkwood. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and use it along with other therapy styles that fit your needs.
