• You find yourselves stuck in the same arguments without resolution.
• Communication feels more like conflict than connection.
• Trust has been shaken and feels hard to rebuild.
• You feel more like roommates than partners.
• Emotional distance is growing despite efforts to reconnect.

Couples therapy offers a safe, supportive space to explore these challenges with expert guidance tailored to your unique story. Healing and growth are possible when you understand the patterns and emotions beneath the surface.

If any of this feels familiar, know that you're not alone—and help is just a conversation away.

In a world that loves shortcuts and life hacks, it's tempting to look for a quick fix for our relationship issues, too.

But a lasting connection can't be rushed. It’s the slow, steady work of listening to understand, not just to reply. It's showing up consistently. It's building a foundation of trust so strong that it can weather any storm.

Ditch the temporary patches and commit to building so

Let's get one thing straight: you don't have to have it all figured out.

The pressure to have a "perfect" relationship is a myth. The reality is that true strength isn't found in knowing all the answers, but in the courage to face the unknown as a team.

Bravery is turning to your partner and saying, "I don't know, but I'm here to figure it out with you." That's where the real work—and the real magic—happens.

Let's talk about the fight that wasn't really about the dishes.

The anger or frustration we show in a conflict is often just the tip of the iceberg. Underneath the surface, there's a whole world of softer, more vulnerable feelings driving our reactions, like loneliness, fear, or a sense of failure.

Understanding these deeper emotions is the key to stopping the cycle and truly connecting with each other.

When you're ready to have a different kind of conversation, we're here to help. Contact Lotus Rising for couples therapy, or read our full blog post at the link in our bio!

"Why are we fighting about this again?"

Many couples get stuck in a "Pursue-Withdraw" cycle without even realizing it. One partner reaches for connection (but it can sound like a complaint), and the other pulls away to keep the peace (but it can feel like rejection).

Swipe through to see this common pattern broken down. Recognizing that the cycle is the problem, not your partner, is the first step toward changing the conversation.

If this feels familiar, you don't have to stay stuck. Contact Lotus Rising for couples therapy here in Brentwood. For a deeper dive, read my new blog post.

Becoming a Better Self

I have an bachelors in Psychology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at University Missouri St. Louis (UMSL).

I have worked in an inpatient drugs and alcohol rehab and as a Community Support Specialist. These experiences have taught me how things are connected and how when one part of our lives are suffering it can seep into others.

I enjoy working with people who are having difficulties in their relationship, dating life and divorce. As a counselor I want to find your strengths and empower you to a better self. I want to help you decided what’s worth staying for and what isn’t.

I am currently a counselor at Diversity Health and Wellness Center in Kirkwood. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and use it along with other therapy styles that fit your needs.
