Join Julie on August 2 to celebrate the transitional season of late summer with a 90-min yin sequence focused on balancing the Earth element within our bodies. Late summer is a needed pause following the active Summer and preceding the seasons of letting go and resting, Autumn and Winter.

This sequence is designed to help balance digestion and promote inner peace and mental clarity. We will end the yin practice with a meditation designed to promote physical relaxation and inner peace.

Late summer coincides with the Earth element which is about grounding, nourishment and security. We are rewarded with the Earth’s bounty and sweetness at this time of year. This season asks us to reflect on how we digest - food, emotions, experiences - and transform that into productive, usable nutrients and energy.

Yin yoga practice includes long-held passive asanas, which apply stress to deep connective tissues. This practice stimulates the facial network, increasing range of motion and strength in the joints and ligaments.

Yin also stimulates the meridian lines where Qi (prana) flows through. It is thought that when there is stagnation or blockages to this flow of Qi, specific yin postures can be practiced to free the flow of Qi again. This freedom is vital for health and longevity.

This is a slow practice, inviting us to take time to be with ourselves - without the external noise. Sign up on the Namaste app or website.

The shift into summer brings new classes and class times at the studio:

Align + Flow: This class is where smart alignment meets feel-good movement. Ashley will break things down, build things up and throw in some arm balances just for fun. Expect a little sweat, a lot of laughs, and plenty of chances to play.

Warm Yoga: If you love the set hot yoga sequence but don't want to sweat quite as much, check out this class set to 85 degrees. You'll begin seated and transition into a breath-to-movement sequence, then balancing postures before cooling down. Open to all levels.

Community classes: These free classes are offered Monday - Thursday at 11 a.m., Friday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m., taught by recent graduates of our yoga teacher training program. The weekday 11 a.m. classes are Hot Yoga. Friday evening is Hot Yoga followed by 30 minutes of open studio time. Sunday evening is a 90-minute warm slow flow.

Sign up for the latest offerings on our website or app! See you on the mat soon. 🖤
