Hi all!

In April, the convention chair moved out of state to pursue the next step in her career. As of right now, we don't have plans for a future Kawa Kon, but there are numerous other awesome conventions in St. Louis to check out.

Thank you all for your support on GoFundMe AND for supporting the convention all these years! We are continuing to be active in the community and encourage you to support other local conventions while we are on hiatus.

From the con chair:
This year, starting with a sudden, severe illness a week before Kawa Kon last year, has been a roller coaster. I realized over the summer that there was no way I could devote enough time to the convention to make it fun. Things are still very much in flux, but I will keep you up-to-date on activities in which the Kawa staff is participating in 2017. Real life got in the way of the absolutely amazing experience that is running Kawa Kon. I'm sorry about that but also glad not to have the convention to worry about at the moment.
For those who have asked, my health is far better, but we all need to take care of our mental health as well. :)

I know many of you have eagerly awaited the opening of registration for Kawa Kon 2017, but unfortunately the con has to be put on indefinite hiatus due to a personal emergency on the part of the con chair. We will continue to be involved in local events such as the Halloween Spooktacular on October 27 at the St. Louis Science Center, but the convention itself is on hiatus. Thank you for all of your support and love! We hope to continue to support the fandom community in any way we can.
