Today marks four years since the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

For those who may not know, I built Bejeweled Counseling® with deep intention behind every detail. The sign above our front door was handmade in Ukraine, during the war, by a small business there. It felt important to support real people whose lives and livelihoods were being disrupted in unimaginable ways.

My dissertation research on moral injury, PTSD, and changes in just world beliefs among military service members also included participants from an American-based group fighting in support of the people of Ukraine. That work changed me. Hearing firsthand the accounts of moral injury and trauma made the reality of this war feel even closer.

I have donated to support Ukraine, and I continue to hold its people in my heart. I don’t think many of us can fully comprehend the depth of what they have endured. The grief, displacement, violence, and uncertainty.

Today, I’m sending love, solidarity, and remembrance to the people of Ukraine. 🇺🇦
