Tekwani Vision Center is excited to offer the most advanced lens implant technology for cataract surgery, LAL (Light Adjustable Lens) for our patients. Keith was our first patient and was very excited about his results.

LAL is a lens whose power can be adjusted after cataract surgery simply by shining a beam of ultraviolet light on the lens. The lens has photosensitive molecules that allow the doctors at Tekwani Vision Center to adjust the lens shape in a precise, customized pattern without additional surgery. By controlling the pattern of light, the lens implant shape can be adjusted to correct residual near-sightedness, far-sightedness and astigmatism resulting in the sharpest vision available. This allows us to design, trial and customize each patient's vision beyond what standard technology can. In FDA studies, patients with LAL had a higher percentage of 20/20 vision without glasses compared with other available technologies. LAL is also designed to have additional depth of focus allowing for a broad range of vision.

If you are looking for an alternative to reading glasses, you may be interested in our new research study in evaluating an investigational eye drop to treat presbyopia. Presbyopia is a gradual loss of your eyes' ability to focus on near objects making it difficult to see things up-close such as reading a book or messages on a smart phone.
