Behind the scenes at HMA...
St Johns Wort... I so love this plant!

Today I prepared a half-gallon oil infusion using an 80/20 blend of sunflower and olive oil, following the folk/simpler’s method. It will be solar infused for at least four weeks.

I also started a quart of St. John’s Wort tincture using alcohol as the menstruum... again, keeping to the folk tradition. Sometimes it just feels right to return to my roots. *St. John's Wort Tincture has a long history of use as an aid in relief of restlessness and nervousness and is known for its calming properties.

And as a little experiment, I’m also infusing St. John’s Wort in the ADI today to see if it yields that beautiful red oil like it does with solar infusion. I should know in about an hour or so.
