🫀 How should we treat patients with STEMI and multivessel disease—especially when heart failure is part of the picture?

The new Science Matters feature from MOACC breaks down findings from the OPTION-STEMI trial, where nearly one-third of patients presented with acute heart failure. The study raises important questions about the safety of immediate multivessel PCI in these high-risk cases.

Check out the full breakdown by Dr. Michael Katsnelson and see what makes this trial different from others in the space.

📈 With obesity on the rise worldwide, experts are rethinking how we understand certain types of heart failure.

A new JACC review explores how belly fat, inflammation, and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) may all be part of the same disease process.

This insight could change how we approach care for people living with both metabolic and heart health challenges.

🏥 The HELP-MI SWEDEHEART trial, presented at , found that routine screening for H. pylori infection during hospitalization for acute myocardial infarction did not significantly reduce bleeding events or improve clinical outcomes.

These findings suggest targeted rather than routine screening may be more appropriate in the acute MI setting.
