Some bonds are tested in ways no family should have to face. First, it was Kaylea. Then it was her sister, Audrey. Two cancer diagnoses, one family, and a love that held them together through all of it.

Happy National Siblings Day.

What childhood cancer survivors eat after treatment may matter more than we think.

New research from WashU Medicine and Siteman Cancer Center found that a healthy diet could help reduce the risk of premature aging in adult survivors of childhood cancer. It's a reminder that survivorship care goes beyond treatment, and that nutrition plays a role in long-term health.

This is what extraordinary care looks like.
Congratulations to Rachel Gawlikowski, nurse coordinator in radiation oncology at Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, on receiving our first DAISY Award.

Rachel, who has been at Siteman since August 2024, received multiple nominations from her co-workers. As one colleague shared, "Daily, I witness Rachel go above and beyond for every patient, whether they are her patient or not. Her compassion and professionalism truly stand out and make our department better."

Rachel, thank you for making a difference in the lives of our patients!

You can't fight something you don't know about.

Dr. Emily Podany of Washington University in St. Louis and Siteman Cancer Center was featured on KSDK News, reminding women why routine cancer screenings matter. Early detection saves lives, and many cancers can be found before symptoms ever appear.

If you've been putting off a mammogram or other screening, don't wait.

White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles revealed that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Doctors said it underscores the importance of early detection.

At age 41, Jordan heard the word no one is ready for. This is his story.

Within days of being diagnosed with colorectal cancer, he was at Siteman Cancer Center. Within hours after surgery, he was walking. And he hasn't stopped since.

If Jordan's story moves you, share it with someone you love. One screening could change everything. https://youtu.be/Pxkv4QNRh6Q
